Hotel in excellent location, 2 minute walk away from pubs and restaurants. Check in quick and room was lovely. We were on top floor and room was clean, with tea/coffee facilities, clean and tidy bathroom and room. Only downside in room was no remote and previous occupant had left subtitles on so were stuck with it!! About 4am next morning... more

21 Nov 2009 | Trip type: Family

We booked a family room, last minute, for the princely sum of £38. We arrived on a wet and windy Sunday night, to a warm and efficient receptionist. Huge, spacious room had everything we needed - spotlessly clean - large double bed, flat screen TV and enough towels and pillows for us all. Reluctant to venture back out into the... more

The hotel was fine for the price. We didnt expect much for a £40 a night travelodge but the rooms were modern and clean. Flat screen tv, power shower, tea+coffee making facilities. The bed was comfortable and the sofa bed was very big. The room was very basic though with nothing more than the bed, a desk, a chair and... more

Stayed one night on way to St. Bees to start Coast to Coast walk. The room was totally basic. Nothing extra. The price was unbelievably low (about 50 pounds) for two. Pull out bed was very comfortable. Our room was quite clean. Was quiet at night, with the windows open. Close to train station and amenities. As others have said,... more

We stayed for one night at the end of August on our way up to Scotland. The hotel is just a couple of minutes from the railway station, which is good, but crucially is set a few streets back from the main area of pubs and clubs. So many Travelodges with "Central" in the title seem to be cheap property... more

We stayed for 3 nights. Our room had never been hoovered in a long time anywhere near the edges of the room, the bottom of the shower curtain was manky and the walls were badly marked, especially for a hotel that has only been opened 18 months. On our first nights we were awakened at 2,3 and around 4am by... more

We stayed here one night on our way up to Scotland. Our room was clean and smartly decorated. We were really only there to crash before we headed up north so it fitted the bill. Only problems were there was no remote for the TV in the room, no kettle, although there were teabags and coffee, and no hairdryer. Apparently... more

Large clean room, comfortable bed, powerful shower and good ventilation. Very helpful staff (one guy, in fact, who never seemed to leave his post). No frills - at all - but sometimes you'd just rather pay £29. We parked with no trouble - between 6pm - 8.30am its unlimited and you can have an hour either way if you collect... more

stayed one night as a stopover (travelling from loch ness back to england). like all travelodge hotels, travelodge charges an additional gbp2 for credit card booking online. find this very unprofessional and annoying for guests. aforementioned at the title review, there is no free or dedicated parking for guest. you will need to circle around the hotel area to find... more

We had two rooms at the Central Carlisle Travelodge for one night (Saturday) in July. The location is within easy walking distance of central Carlisle and the railway station. The hotel does not have any car parking. There is very limited on-street parking outside and a public car park just a few minutes walk away. The building used be be... more
