Met some friends here as it was the half way point. Hotel quite nice, same style as all travelodge's but nice and new looking, Don't stay here for a peaceful night, you won't get it, just like you don't in any travelodge. The price of these hotels means that people on hen nights, stag nights and the like stay in... more

The rooms in this Travelodge are much as you'd see in any given Travelodge. The location is convenient to the city centre and the train station, both reasons for our booking of this hotel. However the staff we encountered ranked as the least helpful anywhere on our trip through the UK. We arrived before the check-in time and rather than... more

booked a family room as meeting friend and her 2 small children. this is the usual "basic" travelodge but was clean and the staff friendly. my tip is go for the buffet eat what you like breakfast - £7.50 for adults, children under 15 eat free. more

Stayed there one night, very disappointed, we were on the top floor, walls are very thin, heard door open and slam shut all night was very busy all night outside and in especially up and down the corridor, very loud drunken people coming and going all night, the final straw was a young child running up and down banging on... more

I agree with Mildertduck in relation to the room - basic, but all you need. Great view from our second floor room. I disagree about the local nightlife. We went out both evenings and did not feel threatened or vulnerable (two females). We booked online and paid for the breakfast in advance which was good value - hot and fresh... more

I stayed here on a business trip in December 08 and was absolutely appalled by the lack of basics. When I arrived at the hotel at 6pm, I was told that there was no booking for me, depsite me having a confirmation number. Eventually the receptionist realised that I'd been put under a different address. Half an hour later, I... more

The hotel was exactly what I expected: a basic but well-served hotel within easy reach of the facilities of Carlisle, including the train station. The room was large, and had a high ceiling, with blackout blinds over the windows, which sufficiently obscured external light. I especially liked the "mood lighting" in the room, as it was less piercing than the... more

Booked this hotel at the last minute as a stopover because we could not find any B+Bs in the Lake District over a popular weekend. The hotel itself was fairly convenient as it was in the centre of Carlisle, but the difficulty was that there was no parking available - only on-street parking, which you had to get a ticket... more

Our room was a little severe, with white walls, high ceilings and blinds on the large window, but it was clean and comfortable with a good shower in the ensuite. Parking is a problem as the hotel is in the centre of Carlisle, but staff were very helpful and courteous. Liam on reception especially deserves a mention as he went... more

This new Travelodge is in the centre of Carlisle. The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is within easy walking distance to the city centre (about 2 mins), eating places, train station, etc. They do have a Bar Cafe inside but you can get much cheaper and nicer food on your doorstep The rooms are very, very... more
