Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We have stayed here a few times before, just as a stopover so know what we are getting, but the pub attached made a difference, but not anymore, we were told on arrival it was busy it normally is but have never been told as guest that we would have to wait over 2 hours for a table for 2. Thankfully the coach and horses up the road has re opened with amazing food and we were able to eat there, so actually did us a favor, as we will revert back to the much nicer other inn.

Hotel's Favourite
2 night stay booked to break up our journey to Fleetwood. Got to say my first night was the best nights sleep I have had in a very long time. I'm normally a very light sleeper and up several times a night and never sleep in past 7am but when I woke to see the time was 9.42am I couldn't believe it. I think it was a combination of the room being in darkness thanks to the black out curtains. It was very quiet and the bed was comfy. This all made for a perfect night's sleep so I am so grateful for that. Definitely one to add to my favourites.

Desperate need of refurbishment. From the moment you step inside you can see how run down this premier Inn is. Our room was cold, grubby carpets, scuffed walls and very uninviting. Would definitely not recommend this place to anyone until it is cleaned up. Breakfast was not available at the adjacent pub as there were not enough people requiring breakfast. On a positive note the receptionist was very welcoming. Anyone reading this review should definitely find alternative accommodation.

This place is very run down. Doors and walls all marked and chipped. Definitely in need of a refurbishment. On arrival the lady on reception was very welcoming. I had phoned after booking for ground floor rooms close together (due to mobility issues and having a baby with us) this hadn't been logged. She was able to move us to rooms on ground floor. On entering our room there was a damp/musty smell. Bathroom was dated Beds were comfy enough. No sockets near the beds. Breakfast in the morning was cooked to order and was tasty. Staff were very friendly. Don't think I'd stay here again. Don't

"Our recent stay at the Premier Inn in Carlisle during our UK road trip was a mix of convenience and disappointment. Booking through the app last minute was hassle-free, but upon arrival, we encountered parking issues as there were only two stalls left in a rather small lot. Street parking was available, but it meant walking a few blocks. Check-in was smooth thanks to a friendly and helpful staff member who warned us about the limited parking due to the hotel being full and a football game taking place at the hotel restrauant. This made dining at the hotel's pub a daunting prospect, so we opted to eat elsewhere. While the room itself was basic, it served its purpose as an affordable place to rest. However, the cleanliness left much to be desired. From afar, everything seemed tidy, but upon closer inspection, the bed sheets revealed two large stains, which was quite off-putting. Considering this is a well-known hotel chain, one would expect better attention to cleanliness and the immediate replacement of such soiled sheets. Additionally, the sheets didn't fit the bed properly, leaving a significant portion uncovered. Overall, our stay at the Premier Inn in Carlisle was adequate for a budget option, but the cleanliness issues were disappointing, especially for a branded hotel."

Very tired and in need of a refurbishment / modernisation to be upgraded like most Premier Inn premises. Bathroom was very dated with loose toilet seat and cracked sink. Staff were attentive and welcoming. Food and drink was superbly priced and excellent quality at the adjacent Green King restaurant.

Booked a family room for a night to break up our journey up north. The room was very clean and comfortable. The bed was lovely and comfy. Both children’s beds were clean and comfortable. Tv all fully working and coffee/tea caddy in room fully stocked. Staff friendly and helpful. Nice quiet premier inn. Room slightly dated-but still very clean and tidy. Would stop off here again if in area.

This hotel is in dire need of a makeover but don't let the standard of the rooms put you off because the welcome you get from the staff is worth its weight in gold. Comfy room with everything you need, just 'tired'. I'd had the most awful day with a breakdown meaning I had to book in to a hotel at short notice (ie 15 minutes before arriving) and this was the nearest with availability. The receptionist was so friendly and made my horrid day seem a lot brighter. A good night's sleep made all the difference and I am grateful for that!

Had a lovely stay. We were looked after by the staff and felt very welcomed. Nice touch with the note and box of chocolates, as it was a special occasion which the staff picked up on. Thank you. The bed was so comfortable and room very clean. If you need to get a taxi, make sure you book it in advance, as Uber not quite set up and there were no taxis available on Saturday night! Had to walk into town, took about 20 minutes.

Free parking, comfy bed and quiet stay. Breakfast not great and coffee in little packets. Couldn’t get dinner at 5.30, only offered 7.30 which was far too late for us to eat so had to go out and find something to eat. Said they had to leave portions of tables for walk-ins
