Advertised and booked as dog friendly hence why it was booked. Dogs not allowed in public areas despite this being a 'country pub' type of establishment. I was corrected on this by the owner who said it was a restaurant with accommodation. On the accommodation side of things the room we booked at £150 per night was like stepping back... More

We stayed just one night when it was very cold. The room was very comfortable and warm. The dinner was excellent all food cooked very well and excellently presented. Service very good and good value for money. Breakfast good choice and again well cooked served.

I found Cornfields by browsing the Internet for a venue for my Mother in Laws 90th birthday lunch for all the family. We booked some months in advance and found Graham to be helpful from the start. The menu choices for our lunch were varied and interesting. We were a group ranging from 2 to 90 years of age and... More

We booked DB&B at Cornfields - a Saturday overnight in August. Checking in was a warm and friendly experience. I am perplexed by other reviews with negative conclusions on customer service. We had a 5-star welcome. Our bedroom in the adjacent converted building was spacious, well equipped & had a super view across the fields to the rear of the... More

This is one of the best restaurants in Bedfordshire. We visted last Saturday evening (19/05/2012) and enjoyed a faultless meal. Excellent use of fresh ingredients helped to make the menu extremely appealing. Particularly enjoyed the wonderful Dauphinoise potatoes, the fillet of beef, the stilton, walnut and bacon fritters as a starter and seasonal asparagus. This was complemented by an excellent... More

Set in rural Bedfordshire I found Cornfields to be a delightful small hotel where you are guaranteed fine dining and a warm welcome. The restaurant and bar are located in an atmospheric 16th Century building which has been tastefully refurbished by the owners Janet and Graham. I found the purpose built rooms, found in a separate block, to be spacious... More

Went for an adult evening away from the kids to celebrate wedding anniversary!!! Turned up to have some time before eating and found the room stone cold. Ended up fully clothed in bed watching tv to keep warm. The TV kept on loosing signal so even that was disappointing. Ended up having to get an electric plug in heater to... More

We found the place downmarket and depressing. It's probably good as somewhere to sleep when one over the eight and anywhere is good. I wouldn't recommend it.

"The Cottage" is delightful and very comfortable.450 years old but beautifully renovated standing in its own country garden, Janet and Graham and all their staff were charming and attentive. The restaurant served delicious home cooked food. A perfect location for a relaxing weekend break
