Stayed in the Oasis Hotel for one night after the FA Cup semi-final at Old Trafford. The double room I had was on the small side but was clean. It is really like being in a 1970's timewarp. The bathroom had a sliding door with a catch on it, a very dated shower that went cold a couple of times. The breakfast was ok but their were only two people serving and they clearly were unable to cope with new arrivals, tables remained uncleared for sometime and it was a case of sit yourself down and attract their attention. This place is ideally located for the town centre and Altrincham railway station. There is a good sized car park on the side. If someone spent some money on this place, it would have great potential, until then, it definately remains in 1 to 2 star bracket. Sat night £40 b & b for a double room (pay on arrival !)

Like I say, we went to Old Trafford, and a return ticket only cost us £2.60. Trains are very frequent too. The Hotel rooms are in a seperate building from the main hotel reception & dining / function rooms, and are quite basic, but they were very clean and tidy. We stayed in a double room which cost us £46 for the night, and this included breakfast. The room had a shower and toilet, a TV, tea & coffee making facilities and a phone. Breakfast was fine, and food was plentiful. If you are going to Old Trafford or Manchester, this is a decent place to stay, and overall very good value for... more
