This was a lovely hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. It's in a great location, right next to the castle and only a short walk from the beach and shops. Great views of the bay. Great value for money, breakfast was lovely and there was a free car park (rare around that area!). more

Thank you for your comments on our evening meals. I would like to point out that we do not serve evening meals and in 2007 only did so to two school parties. If you were one of these school party stays for the price you paid you got good value.

ok, lets be honest most hotels in the resort of scarborough are a little run down and need dragging into the 21st century,we have stayed in over 100 hotels.guest houses so can make comparisons.Phoenix Court is one of the better hotels in this resort ,but that said it is not up against much compition. it has a 4 star rating... more

The room smelt of urine. The bed was the most uncomfortable it could do with been replaced. Sheets and towels were stained and very grubby. Shower was running hot and cold water. I know exactly who put this review on and we checked out every point that they made to us during their stay and all were untrue. None of our rooms smell of urine - how can we possibly expect to sell them if they do. The stain on the bed linen was made by them (they told me this). None...
