Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Rowe farm, is now called lady ediths caravan park, most of these reviews are experienced in 2020 while the park was being built. My first time at lady ediths was October 2001 still some building work being finished .we booked a seasonal pitch, the site was very popular and most seasonal pitches had gone, I was lucky to get one. The site has a very popular clubhouse, a children's playground and newly built toilet and shower rooms, and a fully equipped disabled shower room. The owners of the site Tom and lizzie are hands on ,working wherever needed, the staff are very helpful.all the other seasonal caravanners are very friendly, my previous seasonal pitch was taken because everywhere else was full, it was not to our taste, more like a sheltered housing complex than a caravan park.we had been caravanning for over 40 years, and if we had not found lady ediths we were going to sell up. We have signed up for another year and not intending to move anytime soon.

I want to be fair about the review so am going to keep it factual. The marketing is a lie. At some point, I'm sure the cottage and outbuildings looked like the pictures but the stables are derelict and fenced off and the drive way full of potholes. The garden is pretty but there is huge construction work as a caravan site is being built and rubbish everywhere and constant noise from machinery. There's also a bar on the site. None of this is mentioned in the adverts. There is also a new cottage built next to the Farmers Cottage and there was constant work going on there with decorators. We were unable to access the cottage driveway at one point as a caravan had been delivered and there was people trying to move it onto 8ts plot. There was also no key safe and nobody to greet/direct you as the directions do not include any information about the caravan park so thought we had gone to the wrong place. There was no handbook, local guide or even instructions on how to work things. The double bedroom has severe damp - you could smell and even taste it but it is also plain to see with the paint peeling off the patches. The mattress in that room is so uncomfortable - you can feel the springs. I'm asthmatic and had to continuously use my inhaler the whole time due to the damp. The other 2 rooms were OK - not the same damp smell and mattresses not uncomfortable. The cooker is a calor gas cooker but the ignite switch doesn't work so you have to put a lighter in the cooker. The flame is very big and fierce like a blow torch regardless of what setting it is on so we just didn't use it. The toaster didn't work properly. The fridge didn't chill things properly and fresh milk went off. No recycling facilities. Smoke alarms not tested as the battery was flat in the kitchen. Stairgate not safe - not properly fitted and wedged with a piece of wood. The hot water stopped working on day 2 - apparently switched off by the builders next door. This was fixed quickly. The heating went off on day 3 leaving us freezing all night so even though we had another night, we left early. The heating is oil so I think they ran out. The cottage was clean but very dated. Overall, a really disappointing experience and ruined holiday and I have sent all the photos to the agent I booked it through as don't want other people have the same issues.

Don’t know where the good reviews have come from. Turned up and was shown pitch for motorhome. Surrounded by tents in a muddy field. Was told to move van over as tight as possible as there would be lots of cars coming in later? Obviously workmen coming back to their tents. Checked toilets out, filthy shower tray broke and all the signage in Polish. Left without staying and only got part of the money back. Terrible place, will not be going back!!

Absolute joke! A field the size of your average garden full of tents. Toilets are a building site portacabin with instructions in English and Polish. Was told to move campervan up a bit as a lot of cars would be in later, obviously all the Polish workforce from nearby building sites! Don’t know where the other reviews have come from but I definitely would not return to this place!

Just stayed at this fantastic site for four beautiful nights! We were greeted by the happiest and most helpful gentleman you could meet, Dave! He really makes this site. Although, it is a basic site with one woman’s toilet and two showers, they are clean and tidy which is the main thing! Another point to make is that you can camp where you please, which is fantastic and gives the site a good festival vibe. However, it was just a little noisy and busy Friday/Saturday compared to the utter relaxed open field it was on Thursday and Sunday. There’s lovely little villages Scalby and Newby just a half hours walk away with delightful pubs. Or Scarborough is best part of an hours walk, but don’t worry plenty of pubs passed on route! Would recommend this site for anyone wanting to get back to basics with a fantastic host that can’t do enough for you!

We stayed here for 3 nights On arrival we was greeted by Dave very friendly and showed us where the toilets and showers where and we could pitch anywhere on the non electric field . Plenty of space when we arrived at 12.30 The showers and toliet block very small and basic Toilets kept clean Showers need upgraded Only 1 ladies toliet campsite got busy but social distancing was still adhered too. Dave worked very hard to keep the site clean. Was a couple of issues with nosie over the weekend but got sorted. The day we left they changed the rules and no longer allow fire pits just BBQ. Overall good basic!!! Campsite Good location 5 minute drive to north bay, Lovely lake at the bottom of campsite We won’t return but that’s due to we likr to have a fire pit

When we first arrived we were like what the hell! As it didnt look anything like the photos, we were greeted by a lovely man named Dave he took our registration and pointed us in the right direction. He let us pitch our tent and then come and collected our money, there was a bit understanding with the price as we got told a completely different amount per night by a woman on the phone when booked and dave wentaway to sort it for her to deny it but he compromised with us professionaally and said enjoy your holiday, cannot give this man enough credit seems like he the only one managing and running the farm hisself you see him around the site day and night cleaning toilets showers etc and making sure problems are delt with, even though he not the manager tbh think he should take over as you never see the manager insight. Toilets and showers are very basic but what do you expect it's a campsite there animals like peacocks, squirrels and ducks roam free and you can see the donkeys, horses and cows.. however we were disappointed we couldnt find dotty the donkey :(, nothing onsite your basically on a farmer's field but short drive away to local shops and Scarborough itself and restaurants overall we enjoyed it we stayed 4 night and would definitely go back for a cheap camping break and massive credit to Dave for the hard work he does:)

Stayed here for one night. This is camping in a field with basic facilities. If you want anything more advanced or luxury then move on but this is reflected in the price. Very friendly caretaker called David who was always moseying around checking in on everyone and helped us with gaffa tape when our tent pole snapped. Could do with upgrading facilities but then they would price up. Kids loved peacocks, donkeys , geese, ducks and farmyard.

We booked up, this was the only camp site available as everywhere was booked up as it was just for the weekend and with everything going on , so we packed our tent we just needed a break,we arrived met by Dave who was lovely but stressed, did not take our names said he was not bothered about names just registration, took our money showed us where we could go explained where toilets/showers were. well what can i say, far to many tents on not 2meters apart,we had to go far end of field with grass ect overgrown so we were not next to anyone, they had one ladies toilet/two male toilets in a tin hut, just two showers up the road, absolutely disgusting for the amount of people on there then they set two porto loos up yuk , dont know where the bins were the place is a disgrace, this is the worst camp site we have ever used and never will do again, just avoid this place.....

We had been looking forward to our camping trip to Scarborough, we picked this campsite that had a small paddock for EHU and a field for nonEHU, looked great on the website. The site was difficult to find but we asked someone the way- “ next left, when you see the rubble go straight up that lane”! When we arrived we noticed there were a lot of tents pitched on this small plot of land, Dave told us where our pitch was, I said so we need to make sure we are 2 meters away from our neighbours, Davis reply was, oh no it’s 1meter now! We we got the tents up and Dave returned for his payment as we were putting the gazebo up in between them, after we had set up camp Dave returned and said, oh no, no I didn’t realise the gazebo was that big, I could fit another tent in there, we offered to pay extra and there was a discussion about it, at this point I was ready to pack up and go home but with my upset 7 year old we decided to stay. The facilities consisted of 1 ladies toilet in a metal container with a small sink and watered down hand wash, 2 men’s toilets with no hot water again in a metal container, 2 showers of which 1 was only in use, the shower when cold after 4 minutes of use again in a metal container, only cold water available for washing up, all dogs must be kept on a lead except the residence dog that can come and go as they please. With the current situation I would have thought our details would have been taken incase of an outbreak but no, he didn’t even ask my first name. All in all Yorkshire is a wonderful place to visit but Row Brow Farm at £22 a night for myself and daughter was a disgrace.
