Went with a group of friends, arrived late on Friday and Mike was still up to welcome us and heat up some Lasagne. then went out to do paddle boarding, surfing, kayaking and kite surfing all on the Saturday with some warming soup brought down to the beach for us. Then Mike cooked some great BBQ eaten around the outside... More

I stayed in the lodge many times, always friendly and laid back atmosphere thanks to Mike and Paula. Nothing beats Mike's super tasty BBQ and sitting around the fire pit after a day in the sea. They have got bunks, doubles and two cottages so plenty to choose from and all reasonably priced. Always good memories from the stay there.... More

This is Scarborough's only true Surf Lodge, it is literally steps from the main beach and a two minute drive to North Bay, there is secure board storage and plenty of room to dry your wetsuit. Evenings are relaxed and informal at the lodge and Mike is always looking for an excuse to get the fire pit and BBQ going!... More

I stayed at this lovely cottage overlooking Scarborough Harbour in June 2012. Had a lovely time. House clean and pretty, with plenty of space and all the commodities you would need. Very comfortable and owners really helpful. Relaxed atmosphere really appropriate for this charming location!

Our first experience of Harbourside Surf Lodge was in November. New to surfing we were looking for somewhere where we could hang our wetsuits overnight, get a warm shower, and be amongst fellow surfers. We were not disappointed! A very warm welcome from our hosts was just the start. The accommodation was friendly and homely, the beds comfortable. We soon... More

What is most appealing about this place is being able to use the fridge, cooker and anything else in the kitchen, to chill your wine and beer and cook dinner etc. The ethos is more hostel than hotel and this is what makes it such a relaxing experience. I go there to escape and get away. The welcome is genuine... More

Stayed here for a week with the family and was really really disappointed. We paid £750 for a week and it wasn't worth the money. I'm really surprised that the other reviews for this place are good. The carpets throughout were filthy dirty, as well as several walls in the property. The kitchen was also dirty with cheap, nasty cutlery... More

This is very unfair. The cottage is marketed as a nice seaside cottage and a great place to spend a relaxed family holiday. We have many happy guests who come back year after year and do just this. Many young children have had a great time here and we have no accidents to report. This reviewer wants to leave their... More

Stayed at Harbourside house in July, excellent vibe there and a genuine couple that run the place. Impromptu BBQs out the back and a fire pit and plenty of space to put wetsuits and also bikes ect. Very friendly and welcoming, even let me put my drinks to chill in their fridge ! Mike is a keen surfer so can... More
