The location was excellent with spectacular views of the North Bay. Jon and Janet worked so hard to keep us all happy. Our boys loved the lounge with all that it had to offer and look forward to returning some day. more

It is very rare we stay at one place more than once but this was our third visit to The Castle by the Sea. After our second visit earlier in the year decided to spend the Christmas break there and it ticked all the boxes. We had a really excellent time. It is hard to quantify what makes this place... more

The hotel is well kept and John and Janet are excellent hosts. Although the weather was mixed John advised us where to go on wet days. Good location, hosts very friendly, however guest house needs a refurbishment and a good clean. Room we stayed in (room 4) has "view" of rear yard / washing line! Shower room had rough repair on door, broken sink and toilet seat. This has so much potential, but sadly did not live up to the 4 star billing. more

We stayed for 3 days at the hotel and have an extremely pleasurable experiance from start to finish. The hosts (John and Janet) were very accomodating and went out of their way to ensure we had the best stay. Service and friendliness was second to none. The rooms were very nice and breakfast was delicious. The children all thoroughly enjoyed... more
