Visited Bakewell House for 1 night either side of my trip to Turkey. Greeted by a friendly host who offered us home made cake and tea. Luton isn't somewhere I would find on my itinerary, we had to go abroad and Luton was the only cheap flights I could find to Istanbul and so we booked here the evening before... More

I had a very comfortable overnight stay at Bakewell House. The welcome is warm and included a cup of tea and piece of Christmas cake which was an extra special treat at the end of a tiring day. Alison is very proud of her success with her business venture. The breakfast was delicious and ready as requested with no delays... More

It is hard to find something in Luton, since people usually just use the towns airport. Since we had some things to organise in the area, we stayed two nights and this amazing BnB. Beds are very comfy and the homemade-regional-products-breakfast is just delicious. You get warmly welcomed into the owners house and have a place to come home (!)... More

I stayed at the Bakewell House for a number of months at the end of 2011. During my time there Alison was a proper host and became a good friend. She puts on a great welcome with tea, cake, scented candles and a warm hearth (if visiting in the cold months). A very good conversationalist, Alison will make you feel... More

I stayed for a number of weeks as a business traveller. The service was outstanding (tea and cake on arrival), the room was always extremely clean and well maintained with all the facilities I could want e.g. free wi-fi, great Virgin Media TV. Probably best of all though, was the best breakfast I have ever had at a hotel or... More

Alison made our family feel very welcome in her home with a cuppa and slice of cake, friendly chat and a warm, clean room that ticked all our boxes. As I was running in the Luton marthon she even let us come back and use the bath or shower after the race which was fantastic news and more than what... More

Before arriving at Bakewell I had tried a different B n B in Luton, what a nightmare. Beware of Bnb's in Luton some of'em are really bad. Bakewell house had been recommended by another bnb but when I phoned it was fully booked (a frequent occurrence). After 2 nights at this nightmare B n B located on top of a... More

Alison offers a great atmosphere in her B&B and makes the weary traveler feel at home far from home. Besides the excellent food, tea and cake, she makes for a great conversation and creates a comfortable environment in which to relax after a hard day's journey. Pro tip: locals may know it, but as a foreigner, I learned a valuable... More
