This is hands down one of the worst hotels i have ever stayed in. I will start with the postives the rooms are very big, the menu very varied and the staff are friendly even if there are only two of them. Oh and the location is tremendous. The downsides: The hotel is not clean, in fact its really not... more

A grubby hotel that is in real need of good clean! The lift should be in a theme park and the staff are in need of some serious re-training. Breakfast was cold, the tables were dirty and I must have tried 4 plates before finding a clean one. The breakfast staff were incredibly rude and after complaining to reception ended... more

We arrived and checked in, wish we hadnt. Went to the room, it was dirty, the curtains looked like they had been dipped in a dirty puddle. The whole decor is dated and dirty. Went to open the window to let some fresh air in and to get rid of the condensation and the handle came off in my hand.... more

I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone. When I first arrived I was impressed, service was very friendly and communal areas quiet impressive. When I got to my first room, the decoration was quiet nice but it smelt of stale smoke, I checked the bathroom and it couldn't have got any more pokier. The manager addressed the smell... more

Central location very convenient but not at all peaceful. Although it was February the room was unbearably hot. Needed to keep the window open and were disturbed all night by buses, taxis and drunks. more

We were in Huddersfield attending the music festival held there every year and although the hotel was sticking to it's full price due to how busy it was we still had a wonderful time. Other comments about the age and decor in the hotel are unfortunately true but the bar and lounge and restaurant werea ll immaculate and our room... more

This is our third stay in this hotel and unfortunately now our last. This time was a total let down. It is substantially overpriced for what you get. The whole of the hotel needs a refurbishment and certainally a proper clean. The upholstery and carpets were what you could only describe as minging ! The breakfast was poor as in... more

Only thing going for this place is its location. Dirty, tired rooms, overpriced in need of refurbishment. You would be better off in a travel lodge! more

For the right reasons! The restaurant and the bar/ lounge area were the main highlight of many for us during our stay. The restaurant was well designed and full of warmth and good service. The bar was a nice place to sit back and unwind from either the long drive or just a long day. The bed was also comfortable... more

Staying in this hotel was an extremely painful experience. The heating was switched on in the hotel all night and hotel porter indicated that "it just happens". Food was terrible. Rooms are tiny. This is an old historical hotel, but considering location is in need of serious rennovation. I would attach a serious health warning to staying here again and... more
