We only stayed for one night because it was cheap. The room was comfortable, clean but in need of refurbishment and not very warm, very basic and the bed was two single beds pushed together. The breakfast was the worst I had ever experienced in a hotel. The milk was off, the toast was cold and I had scrambled egg... More

On the positive side: The location is brilliant. Right on the top of the cliff overlooking the sea. If you are lucky you can see France! The staff was very friendly. We had a sea view room. The view was great. The windows open if you want fresh air. Breakfast was very good. You could order as much as you... More

Firstly I would say that this is not a 5***** hotel. However the efficient and friendly service of the staff exceeds what would be expected if it were 5***** (and at a quarter of the price!!). The hotel is perfecly located overlooking the sea and with distant views of the French coast. It is immaculatly clean and extremely comfortable. Our... More

We stayed for 4 nights half board starting on 28 Nov 2011. We were on a coach trip with Travelstyle. It certainly was a bargain price. As I said the meals were very nice with a good choice each evening. Friendly staff, apart from the manager who was a bit self opinionated and unhelpful at times. The hotel is well... More

nice local hotel right on the leas in front of the channel, great friendly staff, functional front lobby lounge (they also have one in the rear with some game machines), front terrace where u can have a smoke or sit down with pint, nice little bar where u can mingle with the other guests (not the old lady buses who... The hotel is in a great location- we had a sea view which was lovely. Yes the place is a bit tired but I would stay there again. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was hot and plentiful. Our room was clean enough, the bed comfy, but the bathroom was a real let down, + really needs to... More

Me and my husband booked the Southcliff Hotel as we went to see Jimmy Carr at the Leas Hall ( which by the way BRILLIANT!!!!) location was good as it was only a 2 minute walk. Ok so let me start with the positives: Location is good for anyone going to see a show at the Leas Cliff Hall and... More

We have been to this hotel, then only for one night. We spent two nights this time and again we're very pleased. Our room was on the second floor and the decor was fine. The breakfast was good - self service apart from tea/coffee and toast and all came nice and hot. When we were here last time there was... More

This was an overnight stop en route from our channel crossing. (Very convenient for Dover). We had a room with a balcony (more precisely, a share of the narrow single balcony that runs the length of the first floor), and we enjoyed being able to step outside and see the sea. However, as a previous reviewer has noted, it's exactly... More

We booked a superior room for extra comfort £69/night). Unfortunately it was situated exactly above the hotel's bar, so the noise of disco music and people sitting outside and chatting was unbearable until long after midnight. Further, the breakfast room/restaurant is located in the hot, ugly cellar, which is decorated with warnings not to change table, once allocated. This treatment... More
