We had stayed at Hunters Quay in May 09 and enjoyed the excellent hospitality of Christine and Graham Togwell so much that, with 2 other couples, we booked a 4 night Hogmanay break 30 Dec - 2 Jan. We were a little dismayed to find out that the hotel had changed hands in October to a group of French businessmen.... more

I found this hotel on trip advisor and when we arrived we were met by the owners who informed us that the hotel had been sold and the new owners were taking over on the next day. We had dinner in the hotel on the first night which was OK. Staff really friendly and food not exciting but tasty. Next... more

Stayed on a 3 night New Year package. Hotel position and decor are exceptional. Food was excellent and plentiful. Staff could not do enough to make stay pleasant. Maybe a little on the pricey side but comfortable with beautiful views. more

This is a charming hotel on the seafront. The room that we had was lovely and spotlessly clean as wereall of the reception areas in the hotel. The food was excellent. However, we booked for a Christmas break only to be told on arrival that we could not have dinner on Christmas Eve so we had to make other arrangements. more

Stayed for three nights with my wife and two young children. Hotel has stunning views, is in excellent condition, and has a nice personal touch since there are only 9 rooms. Hospitality was excellent and kitchen more than exceeded our expectations - worthy a four star hotel. more

Hotel is in a lovely spot with stunning views. The room was excellent comfortable well furnished and appointed. However the breakfast while promising croisants and pastries had none and the food was certainly not four star. On arrival we were advised that while we had booked for dinner the chef had called off sick hence no dinner was being offered.... more

We have just had a long weekend at the Hunters Quay, fantastic location - need to remember to book Western Ferries next time rather than the alternative ferry into Dunoon. Hotel staff, food, cleanlness were excellent - just one point for people to note that whilst we were staying the hotel changed ownership and is now owned by a Frenchman... more

We stayed for one night with our two young children. Christine and Graham repeatedly went out of their way to help and make sure we enjoyed our stay. We ate dinner in the hotel, and enjoyed good food in a relaxed environment. We stay in one of the Premier Rooms, and the veiws and quality of the furnishing definitely justified... more

To mark our second wedding anniversary and the news that finally some good weather was on the way I trawled the depths of Trip Advisor to find a nice hotel in Southern Scotland - somewhere we'd never been. My first find was the Corsewall Lighthouse near Stranraer, but the reviews did it no favours so I looked at the top... more
