We came to play golf and had a great time in Chepstow, particularly the "APRES GOLF"! The Beaufort had a lively atmosphere over the weekend, there was a wide range of beers including Real Ales at o.k prices. We all ate in the restaurant and I've got to say the food was excellent with generous portions, in addition the staff... more

I stayed at the Beaufort with my husband this weekend, the only truly positive thing I can say is the girl on reception was very nice, although not always there! .....the restaurant and food is best avoided! Our room which was very small, was above a function room.....the noise of the party/disco was so loud we could barely hear ourselves... more

We held our wedding reception at The Beaufort, and several of our guests stayed overnight at the hotel. We also spent our wedding night here. Right from the time we booked our reception the management and staff could not have been more helpful, and went out of their way to make our wedding day special. On the day itself, they... more

I read the other reviews for the Beaufort before staying there and felt I ought to put in a review in defence of the hotel. It's a basic, small, English provincial hotel. It's not a modern, chic or boutique establishment and it's right in the heart of the old part of Chepstow, which is a small place anyway. I doubt... more

Stayed here because of a work function, although I had read the reviews in advance. The initial impression from the outside of the hotel was more favourable than I had envisaged - it looked quite nice. However the positive feeling rapidly dissolved. Reception was a tip and mostly unmanned. In the end we just went behind the desk to collect... more

This is the most disgusting hotel we have ever stayed in. Our room smelt completely musty, I got metal in my foot from the carpet. We were in the top of the hotel in a family room, nobody to help us with our luggage, never seen a bath so small. In need of total refurbishment would benefit from the TV... more

I would highly recommend that you do not visit this hotel or even pop in for a cup of coffee as you will be in for an unpleasant surprise. The state and ambience has declined rapidly since I last visited and the customer service makes Victor Meldrew look like Mother Theresa. The coffee is vile - don't ask for a... more

Clean, if somewhat tatty appearance in need of a refurbishment. Got a twin room as a single - great! Problem with electrics - went off two days running and as I could see exposed wires to my bedhead light I was careful! I agree with other posters that breakfast is NOT a bargain - it's expensive enough anyway and the... more

I would suggest if you were planning on booking this hotel, to forget about it now. I checked in and went to my room, which smelt like moth balls. To realise that my two children and i had to share a tiny bathroom with no bath(family room i dont think so). The next morning i requested a larger bathroom for... more

After a long day of walking in the Brecon Beacons we arrived in Chepstow to walk the following day in the Wye Valley. We weren't looking for fancy accommodation but didn't want the least expensive place in town either. We looked at a couple of hotels but they were either much to expensive or didn't look that inviting. From the... more
