I can't recommend this place highly enough. The location is breath-taking, with amazing views and a lovely garden, the decor is beautiful and the breakfast was just delicious. Nikki and John are really lovely people and we had a very relaxing weekend, walking in the hills and browsing the bookshops in Hay. Perfect. We were away for an anniversary weekend... More

We throughly enjoyed our weekend break at this wonderful farm! Nikki and John and their children are excellent hosts and make you feel a part of their family. The house couldn't be more perfectly placed in the Black Mountains - both for the beautiful scenery and the short drive to Hay for book shopping and dinner (just mind the sheep... More

We first stayed here as a couple in 2008, and returned recently with a 10 week old baby and a 16 month toddler. Both times we have been delighted with a warm welcome, and really enjoyed our stay in such a comfortable, tasteful and peaceful farm. Really great that Nikki and John are so committed to organic farming, and that... More

We had a fantastic two nights staying in this beautiful farm. After finding our way through the fog, we arrived not knowing quite what to expect. But it was a great hidden gem, right up in the Black Mountains. The highlights for us were the warm welcome and lovely family feel, touring the farm and seeing the baby lambs, the... More

This is a very special place. It is a charming working hill farm perched high on the edge of the Black Mountains with stunning views and away from the rest of the world. As you arrive the warmth of your hosts and the character of the house welcome you. The rooms and beds are very comfortable as is the guests’... More

We had a lovely weekend here at Ty-Mynydd in freezing January - but the warmth of Nikki and her family along with the roaring log fires kept us cosy. This is a great place to really get away from it all, tucked up at the base of Hay bluff surrounded by sheep and wild ponies. A super experience - we... More

This is an amazing place to stay. Set on a remote farm in fantastic countryside above Hay on Wye, the accommodation is in the family home but we did not find this in the least intrusive. The house has been more or less built up from a shell by John and Niki and the effect is excellent. We stayed in... More

What an amazing find .... absolutely wonderful from the moment you wander down the country road to the farmhouse. Beautiful views and a feeling of "ah" I've arrived, peace at last. Both John, Niki and all the family were great hosts welcoming you to their home and your wonderful bedroom and "that view". Bathroom with a great roll-top bath was... More

spent 2 nights here with our 3 year old daughter, firstly i was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the furnishings, tasteful and a very comfortable bed. the views are second to none, the hospitality from the owners family was beyond what i would reasonably expect, it felt as if we stayed with friends. So if its peace and relaxation... More

From start to finish, everything was organic and as nature intended. So much love and passion has been injected into the B&B and it is evident in every little detail. Gorgeous homemade bread made by Niki, honey from the farms own beehives, fresh eggs from the resident chickens and lets not forget the walls themselves...built by John. The farm really... More
