Rothbury is immaculate. Jan and Andrew were very welcoming inspite of our muddy walking boots and muddy dogs. I stayed here for the past two weeks and really felt at home. Jan and andrew do a superb job and really made me feel welcome. It was absolutely a fabulous experience for us. My gf likes attic rooms, so we stayed in the red room. Though the room is located in the attic, it is not small at all. We stayed in September, two couples on a weekend bookshopping and walking and Rothbury was ideal. Andrew and Jan were very welcoming and have a lovely house. A good breakfast set us up perfectly for a day in the mountains and I would recomend this place to anyone wanting a quiet place to stay within easy reach of the town.

It was a real pleasure to find 'Rothbury' for us and our 2 friends when walking Offa's Dyke recently. All the boxes were ticked. Clean, tidy, well decorated, light and pleasant rooms . The title says it all. A lovely place to stay, although a little out of the way. But that also means waking up to a beautiful view of the countryside with a flock of sheep peacefully grazing under a magnificent tree. The landlady who received us was very gracious and helpful.
