Pauline is hospitable, helpful and humorous. Her B&B is only 5 minutes walk away from the Hay-on-Wye town centre--it is easy to get to, but away from the traffic noise. I had good sleeps every night, because it is so peaceful and quiet. She served delicious English breakfasts, and her recommendations on local restaurants were great. More

We stayed here for a night during the August bank holiday weekend. The kind of attention & warmth you get won't let you go anywhere else when you visit Hay. The rooms were immaculate and Pauline, the owner was very kind and cooked very delicious full English breakfast for us. Highly recommended... More

We stayed at Vermont with Pauline and Tom for a couple of nights around a book shopping trip. The B & B is great, clean, tidy and nice and homely. Pauline certainly cooks a very good "Full English". The area is lovely and we hope to return sooner rather than later to see more. The Vermont is very good value... More

Had a fabulous 3 night stay with Pauline and Tom. As has been said before, very friendly, clean & quiet rooms and great breakfast. An easy 5 minute walk to town, just left car on their drive and off we went! Good free wi-fi. O2 phone signal is non existent in this area, pure peace. More

Delightful, comfortable B & B. Great breakfast which sustained us for many hours, as you don't always have time to eat at the Hay Literary Festival! Location was very convenient, round the corner from the Festival shuttle bus stop or 5 minutes by car from the Festival site. Pauline and Tom are lovely, warm people - it's really like going... More

Our stay at Vermont exceeded expectations. We have stayed at many B&B's over the years and this was one of the best. The purpose built attic room with en-suite was clean and comfortable, with sufficient ventilation had it been a hot day. There are quite a few places to eat in 'Hay' and Pauline's recommendation didn't let us down. Breakfast... More

We stayed at Vermont by default almost, as our ferry from Swansea to Cork, Ireland, had been cancelled, so we decided to treat ourselves to a couple of nights in Hay-on-Wye, Town of books. How lucky were we, that I picked Tom and Pauline Williams' place to book a room! Pauline could not have been more welcoming, our room was... More

This is one of the best B&Bs around, with a great location - just a few minutes walk into town. I stayed with my family in a double and twin room, both of which were spacious, clean and comfortable. The owners, Tom and Pauline, were very welcoming and provided a superb breakfast to set us up for the whole day.... More
