Very disappointed with the hotel - pictures on website are most misleading. We had a bedroom on the third floor; presumably the old servants quarters, Furniture was old and tatty and mismatched. Carpet in bathroom was ancient - hope they clean it around the lavatory. I did not want to stand on it in bare feet. In fact carpet throughout... more

My wife and I went to Baskerville hall as a treat on our wedding anniversary. we wanted one of the wonderfully retro and kitchy looking executive rooms, but sadly they were fully booked, so we settled for the standard one. Yes, the furnishings were a little old, but the room was clean and comfortable, and being at the front of... more

Do not be fooled by the web site and offers to create wonderful corporate experiences- we didn't even get our stuff out of the car! This once opulent residence has been let go and is now a cross between Fawlty Towers and the Hotel Inspectors. It is just about clean, the toilets were okay but the whole place needs a... more

Well, we really enjoyed our stay at Baskerville Hall. We were traveling around Wales staying a couple days here and a couple there. Baskerville was our last stop before heading home. My 81 year old parents had a very large room with huge 4 poster bed on the second floor. They enjoyed their spacious room but found the bed to... more

This hotel has the makings of a great weekend retreat, being close to Hay but out the way enough to feel 'away from it all'. However, I don't think that the term 'Executive' should be applied to any of the rooms, well not when the decor, furniture and fittings gave up the ghost years ago! Changed room as soon as... more

We live in France and I stayed one night in this "hotel" with my wife and my 2 children. And we were really disapointed. We had a "family room", with furniture who wera already here for ages, the carpet was dirty, there were holes in bed-sheets, curatins also had holes. Two marvelous cigarette holes on chairs, bathroom dirty. OK, when... more

My girlfriend and i stayed here last year but I've only just discovered TripAdvisor, so thought I'd take the trouble to write a belated review (in order to warn other potential guests). If it was run properly, this could be a lovely place. It has a fine old curving staircase and almost manages a baronial-type atmosphere, with its traditional dining... more

I can't deny that the decor is in places tired and the general appearnce gloomy, but this all seemed to add to the ambience. The building is amazing, and the views wonderful. I was one of two elderly hens invited to join my daughter's hen weekend, so the combination of cheap accomodation, plain but plentiful food, and reasonable prices in... more

We experienced the horrors of Baskerville Hall when joining in a group of bikers (of the gentlemanly kind!). My husband was on an organised get together and after checking the hotel on-line (but failing to check trip advisor!), we decided it looked a great place for me and our daughter to chill out whilst hubby on biking activities. How wrong... more

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Baskerville...but only because we were prepared for some serious kitsch. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the house and its drive are quite impressive from the outside. Inside made me long for the money to renovate this manor house back to its former glory. After seeing our really laughably... more
