As book lovers, Hay-on-Wye - "The Ultimate Book Town" - had been on our wish list for a good while. Our daughter and family beat us to it, and liked it so well they gave me a visit there as a Mother's Day gift. Our visit was Sept. 4 - 8, 2009, and we were extremely lucky with the weather.... more

I stayed for 1 night with my mother in twin room. The room was huge with a double & single bed plus a large separate ensuite bathroom. The building has loads of character, the carpet & furnishings are a bit tired, but everything was very clean & the host was very friendly. Our room was in the attic with exposed... more

Easy parking round the back, not so easy to find front door! Although I have difficulty with stairs it was worth taking them one at a time... more

My wife and I stayed here for two nights in April. The 17th century building has plenty of character, especially from the outside. The room was decorated nicely and had a private hallway and large shower-room. The hostess was very friendly, and entertained us with tales of her childhood growing up in a castle. The parking was well signed, but... more

We stayed at Rest for the Tired in Hay-on-Wye in early June 2006. The B&B is in an interesting 400 year old house that was a real pleasure in which to stay. The room and ensuite bathroom were spacious and clean. The hostess was very friendly and helpful. The only issue I have was that the breakfast the next morning... more
