It is always a pleasure to stay at The Old Hall. We love it so much that we have booked Christmas. It has a lovely welcoming atmosphere and you can come and go as you savour the delights of Buxton (and the theatre).

We took my Mum there for a night before her 89th birthday and what a lovely OLD hotel. Rooms were immaculate, old beds and we were next to the Queen Anne suite...very historical! loved the creaky floors. Rooms were immaculate and bedding crisp cotton sheets. Dinner and breakfast very good. Liked all the history in cabinets in the entrance hall.

Old Hall is true it is old and has many quirks to it, creaking staircases, tiny uneven doors, tudor history (Queen Mary of Scots stayed there) but as a hotel it is tired and in need of a make over. Daft things let it down like bulbs blown that aren't changed, broken chairs, dripping taps, torn wallpaper, scuffed paintwork.....all TLC... More
