Our room was well presented and very clean although a bit on the small side. The shower was excellent. The decor throughout the hotel has seen better days. Breakfast was good and the service fine. Overall a nice place to stay but I would only pay £70-80 for a room, not the £120 we paid. more

This hotel could be absolutely fantastic: old, atmospheric, historic and floorboard-creaky, with friendly staff. Stayed here several times now in Mary's Bower on one of the DBB packages which present tremendous value for money. Excellent locally sourced food, great location in town and county. Love the history of the place though we have never seen the ghost. Would recommend to others and definitely return. more

First time at this hotel, expensive at £110.00 but Buxton hotels are expensive. Could not fault a thing - room was great, bathroom looked fairly new. Had lunch, breakfast and both were excellent. A mixed bag, but mostly disappointing. I thought I was treating myself, but a sleepless night is not my idea of fun.
