Stayed over for one night. Feburary 2012 Very Friendly, very clean and great food. We went to the Opera house to see a show and the The Old Manse was the perfect choice, close enough to walk back and enjoy a couple of drinks on the way. Gary"N"Janet Manchester More

We stayed 1 night at The Old Manse. Sally (landlady) was very friendly and welcoming. We were given on of the rooms on the top floor which was a nice size and lovely and warm. The bed was nice & comfortable and the bathroom provided with everything we needed. Thank you for making our short stay so relaxing! More

We stayed 3 nights in this guest house. It was spotlessly clean, the room was very comfortable. They are very friendly people. Breakfast was very nice with a nice selection. It was in a only a few minutes walk to the tow. Lots of nice places to eat in the evening. Would stay here again. More

Positive points first - excellent breakfast, very pleasant & helpful landlady. We stayed for 3 nights in a large room (decor rather dated) with a superking bed, settee, two tub chairs with small table. The bed was very comfortable. Only a 5 minute walk from the market place. Now the negative points - it was the tiniest shower room we'd... More

Dear Julia R Thank you for your comments, which we do act upon. As such, the door hinges have been adjusted and now closes easily. Ease of closure has been added to our checklist when the room is cleaned. With regard to your other comments, we have just had our yearly assessment by Quality in Tourism and after inspecting all... We have stayed a few times at The Old Manse and each time we have been very well looked after with spotless rooms, magnificent breakfasts (vegi option is wonderful) and the warmest of welcomes. Sally and Simon are passionate about you having a relaxing stay and nothing is ever too much trouble. The Tapas restaurant is a must to visit! More

Perfect guest house facility. All it should be. We had a large room with big comfortable bed and sofa. Shower room small but perfectly adequate. Good breakfast and superb service. A short stroll from Pavilion Gardens and the Opera House in Buxton. If you don't get one of the 2 spaces in the front, it's street parking. I can never... More

We had booked a larger room for 3 nights - which turned out to be very cramped, with the smallest bathroom and shower that we have ever seen. The shower and shower curtain were mouldy, with only a cheap plastic soap dispenser and tiny mirror the amenities. The only other space available to us was a very small breakfast room... More

We are very sorry that our establishment did not meet your expectations. Our larger rooms have a superking bed, sofa plus 2 tub chairs and prove to be a very popular option for those requiring that extra space. We provide all the standard amenities you would expect in a hotel with little extras like a shoe horn, clothes brush, cotton... More

Stayed for two nights in this excellent guesthouse. Very welcoming and spotlessly clean. Lovely comfy bed and a nice queit room. Great Wi Fi services. Breakfast was very nice and freshly cooked. Thank you for recommendation of The Old Sun pub and the Taj Mahal next door. Both nice places and real good value. Went two nights for a curry.... More
