Not just a place to stay.....a home to experience. What could be more enjoyable than spending a couple of evenings with Poppy in her home? A piece of the english countryside, a beautiful family home and a first class hostess. If you want to make a new friend, hear stories of Olympic achievements and enjoy scrumptious food and wine then... More

Had a wonderful stay in late December. Welcomed warmly by Poppy with afternoon tea and cake to discuss dinner plans. Given the option to eat alone or with Poppy and Graham which we chose to do. Lovely company over a fabulous dinner and then tea/drinks in the lounge in front over the roaring log fire. Huge room and bathroom with... More

This is the most perfect B & B, we were so lucky to find it. The hospitality was wonderful, Lady Poppy Cooksey greeted us warmly as we turned into their drive and invited us to tea and homemade cake. The house is amazing, full of beautiful antique furniture. We stayed in the luxurious Four Poster Room, which had an enormous... More

We found this enchanting English home by searching B & B's in the Cotswolds. This was the perfect place for our journey into the English countryside! It made our tour of London seem like a fading memory. Lady Poppy Cooksey has the true 'gift of hospitality' in the English sense and welcomed us warmly into her charming home with afternoon... More

We LOVED our stay here. It was exactly as the web site advertised.. Of our 2 week vacation in Europe this was one of the highpoints. I would rate it as an 11 on a 1-10 scale. We didn't want to leave. The room was wonderful ( Chinese room) , the food was delicious and the company ( the fellow... More

Wow, what a wonderful gem in the middle of the Cotswolds! Uplands House, outside of Banbury operated by Graham and Poppy Cooksey, is the most fantastic B & B we have ever stayed in! From the moment you enter the beautiful grounds and then draw yourself away from that into this most magnificient old manor house, you are quenched with... More

Poppy is gracious hostess and we thoroughly enjoyed her company and delicious dinner. We found great peace strolling in the fragrant garden and were made most welcome on arrival. Will definitely return! More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Uplands House. Our hostess, "Poppy", greeted us warmly on arrival at her beautiful home and, after showing us our enchanting room, invited us to join her for homemade cake and tea. Apart from being a super cook and hostess, Poppy has good knowledge of this beautiful part of England and we found her suggestions... More

Visitors to Uplands House are in for a treat. It's a lovely old house situated on a lane lined with ancient trees. The gardens are just beautiful, with cows grazing picturesquely just beyond the fence. City dwellers will enjoy the quietest, soundest sleep they've ever had. This gem is graciously run by Lady Poppy Cooksey, who could not be more... More
