Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Staff at reception not at all friendly. On phone when we got there and then "name"? was all we got. Checked us in and didn't even ask if we wanted meals or tell us where the room was. Room ok as usual, but we were put off by the lack of greeting. Great location and very little external noise.

This is a great hotel , as expected from Premier Inn. Easy to find and convenient from J11 of the M40. The check in and restaurant staff were welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Special call out to Kate on Reception and Molly from the restaurant.

Hotel needs a good sort out. Only 1 member of staff at check in, queued for at least 15 minutes, tried to book a table although the restaurant was nearly empty at to wait for over an hour . Staff told mr only one chef so they have to spread the diners time well apart. Premier inn take the money but definitely do not give the service. Pumps are generally down. Shame on you Premier Inn , perhaps you should show this on your tv adverts.

We arrived at this hotel, which is very handily located just off the M40, at about 9.30pm to find a queue of 14 people ahead of us checking in! Something was obviously wrong with the IT system as both self check-in terminals had out-of-order signs on them. We waited almost half an hour to be checked in and not a word of apology was offered when we finally got to the desk which we thought was very poor (and is the reason I have knocked off a star off as everything else about the hotel is excellent) Very big, very modern, typical Premier Inn high standard of room with very comfy bed. Only one of the the two lifts was working but it wasn't a problem. A modern & spacious Thyme restaurant and bar with the usual excellent PI offering at the breakfast buffet. Again though, staff training was an issue. Two young members of staff were clearing the tables around us and loudly criticising a colleague which we thought was very unprofessional.

Slightly better than average room however that was the only positive about this hotel. Right from check in the hotel amenities and staff were below par. We were fortunate to be the only ones checking in at that time, but it was a laborious process. We then went down for dinner, despite the restaurant being almost empty we were told that it needed to be pre-booked and had to wait 45 mins, we ordered drinks at the bar and I think the lime slice was older than it should have been and gave my drink an aftertaste. Dinner was disgusting, whilst in the first to admit than I’m a fussy eater, my chicken burger, fries and coleslaw weren’t fresh, and my daughters pasta appeared reheated with limp garnish. Fortunately/unfortunately I hadn’t booked breakfast with the room, and the lady at the booth was downright rude and bit my head off as I paid, telling us not to take anything hot as we hadn’t paid for it! Selection of continental food & drink was basic. On arriving back for our second night, we found our room keys weren’t working, first trip down to reception from the second floor got us through the lobby door, second trip back to reception and we got a key that let us into our room. Needless to say we didn’t book for breakfast a second time… Whilst some of the staff were friendly, others were disinterested or rude. Room was clean . Won’t book for this hotel again particularly as now reading other reviews this treatment is the norm rather than the exception sadly.

Stayed here before but the room we were given had some issues, moved the built in desk light for my daughter’s drawing which made a bang and blew the electrics for our and other rooms on the floor. Window didn’t have a handle so room got very hot and stuffy causing us to feel a bit ill and room was well used e.g marks on walls and some stains

Well placed on the outskirts of Banbury, this hotel is good for touring the area. Generally clean and tidy it is like any Premier Inn. Food and drink is reasonably priced and there is a Miller and Carter right nextdoor for a more up-market option.

Check-in: the one member of staff was doing her best, but the technology wasn't working. She said the automated check-in hadn't worked for weeks. The queue lengthened as she tried to get the key card machine to work. The company simply had not invested in the technology. The room was as expected from a Premier Inn - except it was more expensive than it should have been. If you eat vegetarian, prepare for huge disappointment.. and probably hunger. The 'sides' (chips, onion rings etc) are soggy. There is no realistic acknowledgement that some people these days don't eat meat etc. Actually, the only strength of the place was the staff. Well done to them for making the place bearable.

Breakfast at this hotel was good. All self-serve but a decent choice of foods. However evening meal was dismal. Undercooked pizza, missing peas and when they did arrive, cold and hard. Quality and choice of evening meal pretty awful. I would only have breakfast here. Family room was ok and set up for 4 which was nice but would have preferred a shower over bath especially as we had young children. Bathroom was very small and position of things like hand washes were so high & certainly not catering for little people.

Booked a Premier plus room which was nice and on the top floor. Check in was slow. On the second day got back to our room after a tiring day, room key wouldn't work. Had to go all the way back to reception to get a new key, obviously only programmed for one night and not two. Took 30 minutes. Then realised hadn't been given the ultimate WiFi code. Called reception to request one, was asked to go back down to get it but manged to persuade them to give it to me over the phone. It didn't work. Gave up. Overall would give this hotel a wide berth in the future. PS if you are a blue badge holder steer clear if you need a parking space. 6 blue badge bays with 4 taken up by cars without one, staff paid no attention. Presumably some were staff cars, if previous experience of premier inn is anything to go by.
