We have stayed at this Hotel a number times with our young son and generally it had been a good experience, however, our most recent visit was very disappointing. The staff on reception are and have always been most helpful and friendly, but the standard of cleanliness seemed to have taken a real nose dive. The bath was dirty and extremely uninviting , in fact, to the point of putting us off going again. The hotel is virtually on the East Lancs Road and can be a little noisy if you get a room on the wrong side, but as we have relatives nearby, it is in a convenient location for us. The pub on the site is OK and not too expensive, but nothing spectacular. It is a pity that it has gone downhill, as previously we would have recommended it as a cheap, no frills stopover or base if you are not intending to spend too much time in the hotel itself. more
