The hotel from the outside is pretty much as other reviewers have said - an old (I'm guessing Victorian) 'Gentlemans' residence with a seventies grey block stuck at the back uncunnyingly disguised with ivy. The grounds are laid out well with outside tables and benches and views over the countryside - slightly marred by the car park but that depended... more

We upgraded to a superior room on the advice of the staff on booking and were incredibly disappointed. The room was very small, with cheap, flatpack furniture, the kind you'd expect in a cheap motel not a supposedly luxury hotel. Our promised view consisted of a kitchen roof and some very loud air conditioning units! We woke after our first... more

I stayed at the Chase with nine other musicians as we were recording at nearby Wyastone. As producer I think I was offered one of the best rooms - at the side overlooking the carpark. It was difficult to fault with a spotless recently refurbished bathroom with the most powerful water pressure I've ever come across! There's a basic spa-bath... more

Great location in pleasant grounds 2 minutes walk from the town. Lovely grounds with flowerbeds and lots of outdoor seating. The dinner was superb and breakfast plentiful and freshly cooked to order. Our room was clean and well equipped and had a lovely view overlooking the gardens. Although, we did upgrade to ensure this. Good deals are available for rooms... more

This was my second stay at the Chase. The surroundings are lovely and it could be such a nice hotel ... but..... my room was backing hot. I had the windows open but my room backed onto the huge kitchen extractor. It was so warm I even double checked the heaters were not on (it was about 21 degrees that... more

A very traditional hotel located within easy walking distance of Ross on Wye. Looked like it used to be a very grand house, impressive hall with tiled floor and large staircase. Quick and easy check in, very pleasant reception staff. Lots of parking. Our room was number 40. overlooking, as we expected as it was a cheap deal via Lateroom.com,... more

Just returned from a weekend at The Chase Hotel with friends. Very convienent for the town, good Indian restaurant very close by. The Hotel is having some decorating in the corridors, we were not told about this. The rooms are small, the heating in the bathroom was not working well, why do hotels still use well worn blankets on the... more

Ok the good points, the location to Ross is great, at the most 300 yards to the centre. The food in the restaurant was fantastic. Unfortunately the rooms are small with very thin walls, we could have conversations with both neighbours. They are slightly dated. The staff in general were geat however did have issues with one member when we... more

We got a cramped room, will a view of the noisy air con unit outlet for hotel. The Bed was hard, the breakfast indifferent. Waitressing staff off hand. I would not recommend this hotel more
