I booked a four poster bed with a veiw for my 20th wedding anniversary and due to one thing (broken leaking water pipe) or another (moved room 3 times) we ended up in the barn that felt like a cave. We found without going into laods of detail the following, Room No 1. The bathroom was small and pokey, Tiles... more

Just spent three nights at this lovely hotel. We had a standard room situated above a party room(noise, and i mean NOISE,will be a problem when there's a function on)and got what we paid for! The room itself was just a little small, although pleasant. We had stunning views over the hillside and a nice little balcony from which we could enjoy the view.The... more

We stayed in the Self catering barn belonging to the hotel. The barn was modern having recently been refurbished. The photos on their website do reflect the property. The barn also had a small private courtyard and parking available next to the property. The kitchen is big and has lots of cupboards but doesn't have the benefit of a dishwasher.... more

My partner took me to this hotel for a weekend for my birthday. We stayed in a room with a four poster bed and beamed ceilings. The building is very old so the floor was uneven and creaky, it was great! Everything was spotless and beautifully presented and our room overlooked their pretty garden area. We dined in the hotel... more

We loved the place! As you drive up you are confronted with a low very old stone manor house covered with ivy. the reception is small and welcoming with a big log fire, it leads to the bar with another log fire and a great array of beers and spirits. Dinner is here in the bar or in a real... more

During my stay here the welcome and service was second to none, the owners together with their staff made us more than welcome and their friendliness and the fact that they were familiar with us only added to the value, we didn't feel like strangers, more like friends staying in a friends house. I live in London and regularly dine... more

We arrived at the hotel on a chilly evening and were welcomed by a smiling lady and a roaring open fire. Immediately we felt that we would like the place. We checked into a old room which had tonnes of character. Not everything matched and the floors were uneven, but this added to the charm. We ate in the Bar,... more

Having read the previous reviews, I don't think they stayed in the same hotel! The hotel is excellent. It is smart, clean, comfy, full of character and very welcoming. We were upgraded to a four poster room, away from the function room, so that we wouldn't be disturbed by the noise. Instead we had the noise of the kitchen stereo... more

My partner booked a 2 night stay as a late birthday present for me... we arrived after rush hour and were met by a very pleasant woman. Our room was clean, however the floor was very uneven - fair enough, not anyone's fault considering the age of the hotel. We had food in the hotel and have to be honest... more

We were impressed with the building on our arrival (built 1570) but on entering found the reception area dark and dingy. A pleasant woman greeted us and even called us by name! We were given a room in the add on part of the hotel - not in the original building and as we made our way could smell the... more
