We found this hotel to be clean and comfortable,Colin was friendly and pleasant. The road outside the hotel can be very noisy very early in the morning! So if like us you want to benefit from the sea air And have the window open take your ear plugs unless you are a VERY early riser. Considering the hotel has such a... more

The good point of our stay in Lowestoft was this hotel/guest house. We were made welcome from the word go until final goodbye. Room was spacious, clean with excellent en-suite facilities ( not a poky cubicle in the corner). Breakfast excellent and cooked to order. The only drawback is it is in Lowestoft, definately the armpit of England. more

A top quality B&B brilliantly located in composer Benjamin Britten's former family home. Set right on the seafront, this lovely Edwardian house is probably the very best B&B in Lowestoft. We stayed in the Mozart Suite - we had a huge light living room with two sofas, and an equally large bedroom with a four poster bed to ourselves, both... more

We selected the Britten based on the reviews and must say what an excellent choice. We stayed at the Britten for three days and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were met at the door by Colin and immediately felt at home. After showing us our room we were served tea and biscuits in the comforable lounge. The room was spacious,... more

What an absolute corker!! As soon as you walk through the door you are enveloped in luxury. Rich dark wood furniture and warm reds and golds in the bedrooms with pillows for your head to slowly sink into but do not leave you with a stiff neck (I usually take my own pillow with me but not on this occasion).... more

What a delightful gem of a place! Immaculately clean spacious rooms with every home comfort provided in a fabulously well maintained house. Decor lovely. Run personally by owners, who are extremely friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Delicious breakfast served in lovely dining room, and residents lounge very comfortable. We had a gorgeous sea view. Could not fault anything... more

I am writing this review on behalf of my parents who are in their mid 70's. My father has been poorly for some months and my mother has been looking after him everyday. They were both in need of a break and wanted to stay nearby to my mother's aunt in Kessingland. I looked on an interactive map to find... more

We stayed for 5 nights in late May/early June. We booked on line after reading the reviews on TA and other sites and we were very happy we booked this place. We had a suite on the second floor looking directly out to sea. The room was clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated, as was the rest of the place. The... more

My husband and I spent a weekend at Britten House. Ann and Colin made us very welcome and worked continously to ensure all our needs were met. The Chopin room was lovely. It was clean and tastefully decorated with a lovely modern bathroom. The breakfast was excellent freshly cooked and made from local ingredients. Ann cooked an evening meal upon... more

This place is special 1. because of the friendliness of the owners, 2. because of the interest of Benjamin Britten having been born here, and 3. because everything is done to make travellers feel at home in a house obviously loved by the owners. Our room was spacious, the bed comfortable with good bedding, and the bathroom well equipped. The... more
