I wasn't sure what to expect from this after reading the other reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. The room was small, but clean and comfortable. Customer service was exceptionally good: staff were extremely helpful and courteous. The hotel is right on the beach and the restaurant looks out to sea. I had dinner in the hotel and it was... more

I've just returned from my 1 night stay at the Hotel Hatfield. I was a bit dubious of staying here after reading some of the reviews, but I needn't have worried. Check in was hassle free and we went straight up to our room. Granted the floors creaked a little and the bed was a bit hard, but it is... more

The room booked was listed as the Superior Double also known as the Suite....boasting sea views, four poster bed,jacuzzi....The view was very disappointing...windows filthy on the outside impairing views not to mention window not really designed for views. The bed was lumpy but ok...the best bit was probably the jacuzzi lol... Now if your discussing the food and the restaurant...you will... more

I was taking my 81 year old mother back to her birth place of Lowestoft after many years of being away. I asked for a sea view and said I wanted to make it a memorable stay. They gave us the Ryan Suite for no extra charge which had wonderful sea views, a beautiful old four poster bed lovely furnishings... more

This is one of the worst dumps I have ever visited. The shabby exterior only hinted at the horrors within. The first impression is the smell of stale smoke which pervades every corner of the building. The next is the tinny muzak from the bar which is tastefully also piped into all the upstairs corridors. After reaching our room via... more

I requested a non-smoking room but all those were gone and I got a very shabby room at the back of the hotel overlooking the main road. Reception staff appeared not to give a hoot about this, and rather than being apologetic were of the "take it or leave it" attitude. Restaurant staff were overworked but did an excellent job.... more

We rented several rooms in Sept., 2005. The view was wonderful; however, the staff was indifferent. we had to haul our own luggage. The lift was scary, but worked most of the time. Breakfast was average and not very filling to an American. Some of the rooms had tub/showers, but one had only a very small shower. Would check out... more

Stayed here for just one night in room 202.The view was fantastic. The room looked out onto a golden beach which I could see while lying on my bed and I could hear the waves crashing on the shore at night with the window open.Lovely.I thought the room rate was a little high and that the hotel was watching the pennies(... more

This hotel was booked by another hotel in the Best Western group for us for onward travel the next day . Despite having the faxed confirmation of the type of room for our stay with us when we arrived at the Hatfield we were shown to another room which because of disability was much too inaccesible. It would appear that... more
