I stayed here in April for several days whilst waiting to move into my house and it was great. Had lower apartment to myself, warm, fully equipped kitchen, great modern bathroom and friendly owner. Ideal for Lerwick, close to Library and can walk into town easily. Plenty of room and a quiet road. ideal base for exploring island. more

King Harald Apartments are hard to beat if you're looking for self-catering accommodation in Lerwick but don't necessarily want (or need) to commit to a full week's booking since the apartments are available to rent year-round on a daily basis (subject to availability). You have a choice of ground floor or first floor two bedroom apartments, with off-street parking outside.
The purpose-built building is situated on a quiet residential street, within easy walking distance of the town centre and very close to the sea (views from the rear windows). All rooms (excepting the en-suite shower room) were of very good size - the apartments certainly aren't cramped for space!
The apartment we booked (ground floor) was well specified, but only to a point.
We felt that the apartments had been created with a holiday business very much in mind, and equipped accordingly, but that the owners probably haven't actually spent a night in the property themselves. This would...
