just arrived back from four days at the Kensington hotel, i have stayed at many hotels good and bad but this rates among the best if not the best i have stayed at, it's a family run hotel and nothing is too much trouble for them, it's spotlessly clean throughout and the food is all freshly cooked with the best... The Kensington Hotel is typical of an older seaside hotel. Overall, it's a bit tired, but would need huge investment to modernise. The room was comfortable and clean, and the staff were all very good. The menu and the food was very unimaginative-this didn't affect me much as I was only there for one night, but if I had stayed... Nice place right by the sea. Was good value even for a bank holiday weekend. Had a lovely breakfast in the morning. Only thing was the double bed in our room was two singles pushed together, didn't make for a great nights sleep.

Came home bored one Friday night and booked this for Saturday night (20th April 2013) on the spur of the moment. Booked through booking.com. £49 for the double room for the night with breakfast. No complaints but it's advertised as a four star hotel and it's not it's a guest house. Cramped very narrow corridors and very compact rooms. Our... More

A lovely hotel with warm friendly staff and a service that equals anywhere we have visited before. The beds were comfortable, rooms warm and clean and the food especially at night time was first class. They were also very good with our thirteen month old son. A great place to stay for good value. Highly recommend.

Started by booking one night and then whilst there we extended for two. Ended up wishing we only booked the one!! First night (Sunday) was really good, great breakfast and service lovely dinner (food was really good quality) and again good service. However the second night (Monday) was awful. During the night the amount of noise from adjacent rooms and... More

We stayed for one night as a base for going to the greyhound racing. The hotel is in a good position on the North end of the resort, so a bit quieter than those nearer the main parade. Parking is available but the car park wasn't very big and with a lot of guests it quickly filled up. Reception was... More

Stayed the one night after having been to Lincolnshire. Arrived about 7 and got a really good deal on a premier double over looking the sea. Had dinner in the restaurant , menu was varied and interesting and when the food came it was hot and beautifully presented served by very capable waitresses. Breakfast was part buffet part waitress service... More

Lovely hotel but was woken up very early to noises in ceiling and cars going back and forth. Beds are comfortable enough and clean. Staff friendly and polite but had to wait for staff at bar and for breakfast.
