My son's in-laws live in Grantown, but could not house all 16 of us. I booked the Ardenberg on-line for 4 adults + 4 kids + 1 wee dog. It was not 5 star, but offered home comforts with caring support. We had the ground floor, which had two rooms (1 with en-suite). One room had six bunks, the other... More

Having hunted high and low to find hostel accommodation, which was truly 'dog friendly', we discovered Ardenbeg. From the first phone call to leaving the hostel, the warm and friendly service from Sabine and Rebecca helped to make our holiday special despite the rain. The hostel is equipped with everything you could possibly need, including a good drying room. Visitor... More

What a great place to stay. Nice big rooms and a great kitchen, the garden is wonderful too. We loved it there and when one of us marries for the second time we will go there again for the stag do. Proper value for money and Craig's Bar is very well worth a look too. Stay here - you must,... More

A fantastic bunkhouse/outdoor centre with excellent equipment hire facilities and everything you would expect in terms of kitchen/drying room/bathrooms/bedrooms. We had a 6 bed (3 sets of bunks) room to ourselves (3 adults) and had the sole use of a bathroom. The other room on our floor had a separate bathroom for thier use. The kitchen was shared but was... Thank you for taking the time to place a review. It is very much appreciated. I am glad that you found the facilities met your needs. Many people travel a long way to get to the Cairngorms National Park so it essential that their accommodation (and other requirements) meet, or better still, exceed expectations. Thank you too for pointing out... More

We headed up to the Cairngorms to catch the end of the winter season, for some fun in the snow. I have stayed at Ardenbeg bunkhouse in Grantown twice before, once on a winter skills course for young people, and again later that winter with friends. I chose to stay here again with my parents because I enjoyed the previous... More

I very much appreciate your comprehensive review, in particular the fact that you mention so many of the facilities around and about the hostel. This will definitely help future visitors realise that although Ardenbeg Bunkhouse is located in the Cairngorms National Park, we are still within easy reach of Aviemore and have plenty of shops and locations to eat within... I slept at Ardenbeg for one night while travelling around Scotland: a fairly clean hostel with self-catering facilities (which we did not use). We were giveng a room with 6 beds to be used as a double-room, toilet and shower were en-suite. Basic furniture. It is OK if you are just looking for a place to sleep.

Thank you for responding to Trip Advisor - our first review! Ardenbeg strives to provide clean, warm and comfortable accommodation with a plate of shortbread and free tea and coffee on arrival. Most of our guests are here to enjoy the outdoors and the surroundings of the Cairngorms National Park and so accommodation is basic and we strive to keep... More
