This is a very nice hotel to stay in to explore the Highlands etc. It is not a riot of fun but a comfortable place. I was placed in front of the window for breakfast sothat I could enjoy seeing the red squirrels outside enjoying their breakfast! Rooms are well equipped and the food is above average.Tables are close together... more

We feel that this guest may have misinterpreted the view from the house which overlooks the front garden, a small park area and then into beautiful woodland. Yes there is a road in between but it is a minor road rather than major road which leads to an industrial area albeit half a mile away and therefore none of his...

My wife and I travelled to Granton on Spey for a two night stay as I had an appointment with a friend in the locale. On arrival we were greeted by William who showed us to our room and who diligently showed us the various workings of the bath and handbasin! The room was very clean and the bed comfortable.... more

Good Gracious what a backlash from this guest from Wales whom we are not allowed to name but he can name us and staff personally. What did we do to receive such a personal attack? He seemed such a nice man when making the booking which he continually chopped and changed but which we tolerated. Unfortunately we are only 4...

What can I say about this wonderful hotel. From the moment we stepped out of the snow and into the house we were greeted warmly and given everything we needed. The house is beautiful and both living room and dining room have roaring fires. The hosts Sonia and William were very friendly and welcoming. Sonia is very knowledgeable about the... more

In October 2008 we enjoyed a wonderful one-night stay at Culdearn House. The house was both gracious and very comfortable and the dinner served was spectacular. We found a very scenic route to drive from Aberdeen to Granton-on-Spey and the countryside along the way was gorgeous. Granton-on-Spey, with all its stone architecture, was very picturesque. The owners of Culdearn House... more

We stayed two nights at the Culdearn from the 27th of December. I had checked the comments on trip advisor and found them to be mostly positive. I highly recommend this hotel. A warm welcome with nothing too much trouble. The standard of accomodation would rate four to five star. Our room was beautifully decorated, warm and the bed one... more

We have just returned from an Autumn weekend break at Culdearn House. What a lovely little jewel. Directions were spot on. This lovely traditional stone built house lies on the outskirts of the town in a quiet location overlooking woodland. On arrival our hosts warmly welcomed us to their home - and from there it truly was a home from... more

We stayed here for a short break last autumn. As soon as we arrived we were told off by the hosts for parking in the wrong spot before even a hello was exchanged. Although we were in the town to meet up with old friends for dinner we were told there was a curfew and we could mot let ourselves... more

What is the point of making comments some 9 months after a stay? Firstly, Guests are asked to move their cars if they park in an area which is clearly marked 'no parking'. There is only one entrance to the grounds of the House which must be kept clear at all times in the event of an emergency. Secondly, there...

This is one of those places that will stick in your memories for the rest of your life. We had spent three nights in Grantown-on-Spey and was exceptionally surprised at what this place entails. It's a smaller hotel with only a half dozen rooms. What comes with this is an attentive host, who is quite friendly, warm, and knowledgable of... more

Well what can I say we have just returned from the most fantastic weekend break at Culdearn House. We are a couple in our late 20s/early 30s and have travelled extensively but have never come across such excellent food and a sumptous bedroom that is totally in keeping with the beautiful house. The hosts were extremely welcoming and their hospitality... more
