We stayed at Millars Barn for two nights prior to our son's wedding on 27 April 2013. Other members of the family and friends had also booked properties owned by Riding Farm. The cottages are extremely warm and comfortable with fabulous big beds, lovely bathrooms and very well equipped kitchens. Extra thoughtful touches include milk in the fridge, tea, coffee... More

We booked to stay here at last minute and couldn't have made a better choice. The cottage was fantastic with everything we needed (including milk in the fridge). We travelled with 2 young children and nothing was too much hassle. The only negative point I found was that the floors were a little dirty. But other than that I couldn't... More

My husband and I have just spent two weeks in this lovely cottage (well, more like a little bungalow). We had everything we needed and more. How lovely to have a dishwasher, a real treat! So many wonderful little touches, milk, tea, sugar & biscuits available on arrival. A huge bed, with a super topper on the mattress - unbelievably... More

We stayed in this beautiful cottage for 3 nights. It was well priced, in a beautiful setting. We had everything we needed in our little barn, including lots of extra stuff that you simply do not get in many places. The owners, Louise & Angus are around most of the time & are happy to help with anything they can,... More

Stayed here for 3 nights in Nov 2011. What a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are beautifully furnished you relax as soon as you walk in. The bed is one of the best I have ever slept in. Woke up feeling great and was greeted by a huge hearty northern breakfast to set me up for the day. This... More

... lack of attention to little details let this beautiful establishment down during my stay. My room was spacious and very comfortable with lots of fluffy towels, bath robes, tea/coffee making facilities etc including a small fridge with some chocolates inside. There was plenty of storage, and the bed was very comfortable. It was also blissfully peaceful and quiet, and... More

We stayed here for our mum's 70th birthday - two couples in the main house and our mum in one of the cottages which was ideal as it gave us space to come and go or to just chill out in the private garden with a stunning view towards the Angel of the North. Rooms very very comfortable, beds were... More

Charming cottage and very comfortable. Both bedrooms have large king size beds and en suite bathroom. Beds very comfortable. Breakfast was very good with a choice of continental or cooked breakfast and fresh fruit. Nothing was too much trouble for our lovely friendly host. I would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet getaway but within a few minutes drive... More
