On a recent business trip to Newcastle, I decided to stay at the Alexandra Guest House after a recommendation from a business colleague. One of the major selling points of this quaint B&B is the landlady, Phyll Watson. Although the guest house is only three star (and it easily deserves a higher rating), the service provided by Mrs. Watson is absolutely five star. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Although I never used public transport, I am lead to believe that the guesthouse is well placed. It is close to the City Centre (it took me around 10 minutes in a taxi to get to Newcastle City Centre – about £10), and is also in walking distance of major attractions.

Definitely worth a look at if you are staying in the Newcastle/Gateshead Area. more
