We were part of a Saturday dinner party and booked to stay overnight. On arrival at 3.20pm our room was not ready. We were offered tea which we accepted; my wife however drinks only hot water - which unfortunately was served in a tea-pot with resulting residue. After a further 25 minutes the room was ready. We had one of... more

I am always nervous checking in to traditional hotels when I have got a good room rate. On most occasions, you end up banished to a tiny room in a remote part of the hotel. I was therefore somewhat nervous checking in to Great Fosters having booked a room at half the normal rate through Booking.com. I was allocated a... more

I have heard about Great Fosters but never had the opportunity to stay there until recently. I guess a hotel either exceeds ones expectations or one can be left slightly disappointed. My friends and I were really quite delighted. The staff were on the ball from the time we arrived. There was a senior manager at the front desk who... more

We stayed overnight last May to give ourselves a much-needed break. We stayed in an executive room in the main hotel which had recently been refurbished. The room was beautifully and elegantly done, with a VERY comfortable bed - most important. We started our evening in the bar with G&Ts in a quiet corner - luxurious! Had a fabulous dinner... more

My fiancée and I decided to book a “tea” for a party of four people at Great Fosters for Sunday afternoon in order to celebrate her mother and father’s Ruby Wedding Anniversary. The booking was reserved several weeks before-hand and we specifically had reserved for our party the setting in front of the large log-fire in the main reception room... more

I have always welcomed an honest review, whether positive or not. I fully acknowledge that we made a genuine mistake with this reservation (we had tried to call in advance and also make amends by offering Champagne on the day) but do feel the enclosed comments to be lacking in accuracy & honesty. There are always two sides to every...

We stayed at Great Fosters for a one night stay to break up a long flight from California to Istanbul. The hotel was only a 10 minute drive from Heathrow Terminal Five--and the moment we pulled into the drive and saw the beautiful facade of the house--we knew we were in for a treat. We arrived early--around noon--but our suite... more

This hotel is a beautiful and unique place to stay. The hotel itself is in great condition, the grounds are immaculately kept and the standard of food and the helpful approach of all the staff is excellent. I stayed here with a family group - to celebrate my Mum's birthday - in September 2008 - and this group was made... more

This is a lovely hotel set in a romantic setting with beautiful gardens. The executive suite we stayed in was clean and quite spacious with a Bang and Olsen TV (although not widescreen). The staff were great and very helpful. The only downsides to this was the food although they have won awards for this but I feel its best... more

Visited Great Fosters with my wife for a wedding and was just blown away by the setting and gardens of this wonderful hotel. It reminded us off Hampton Court. Rooms are expensive but check online to get better deals. Breakfast came with our room rate which was fabulous. The staff are so friendly and cannot do enough for you. People... more
