Lovely old period building with converted outbuildings used as ground floor rooms. Unfortunately the decor and furnishings are very tired and in need of upgrade. The Speech House advertises itself as a party venue and holds these outside so there is no chance of sleep until the last of the guests pack in. One night business trip. Stayed in one of the rooms in the car park. Good size, clean comfortable but no bath. Food good, beer ok, breakfast good. Only downside was wifi reception rubbish, mobile reception rubbish, tv reception rubbish - you have to walk down the road a wee way (when those eyes are watching...) Will stay here again. more

We stayed in a room within the main hotel which had a four poster bed - which was quite amazing. However the hotel seemed a bit dowdy and tired.
