Just back from a stay at the Captain's club Hotel. Ticks all the right boxes; a sumptuous room, superb location, delicious food and most importantly very attentive and professional staff who genuinely care about their guests. The place is just compact enough to retain the personal touch. Nothing is too much and the service is impeccable putting to shame far... more

Contemporary hotel on the banks on the River Stour, minutes from the sea and town centre. Stayed here for a weekend for a relaxing chill. Building newly refurbished, tastefully decorated. All rooms have a pretty riverside view. Booked a kingsize room, good size, nicely decorated with a lovely panoramic view of the river, nice bathroom and an extremely comfortable bed.... more

Wanted a luxury weekend break. |It was fun and we treated ourselves to a suite. This was lovely, but i was disappointed by the state of the carpets which by the wine stains had one merlot too many! The food is wonderful but do dress up; this is a smart place to be seen.Went for a wonderful walk down to... more

Lovely restful weekend spent at this hotel , wealking distance into christchurch and fab views onto the river! The rooms were immaculate nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Food was beautiful. My only gripe was that we could not book into the restuarant and had not been warned on booking- make sure you book- it is very popular... more

After reading great reviews expectations were high. Check in was a breeze and we were shown to our suite. This is a proper suite. 2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms lounger/diner/kitchen. All high tech and contemporary chic. Actually we spoke to a local who said the original plan was to sell these suites as apartments. The windows are floor to ceiling glass... more

Modern luxury hotel on the banks of the River Stour - all Phillippe Starck type glass and metal elegance. Large rooms - all overlooking the river. Excellent en-suite bathrooms with all facilities. Fine dining in the Tides Restaurant which can get busy. We booked dinner bed and breakfast and the hepful receptionist twice e-mailed me beforehand to ask what times... more

Great modern Hotel,in a lovely setting on the river.Rooms are bigger than average and all have a view of the river. We ate in the Tides restaraunt twice, food and service were really good.Because of the popularity of the restaraunt it does get busy at the weekend so it is best to book ahead. One small problem was because of non residents using... more

As I live locally I have been able to frequent this establishment on several occasions. I have seen the rooms - they are beautiful, fresh and new, as is the rest of the building. It really is something special to look at both in and outside. The atmosphere is perfect; refined but not too stuffy. Lets get the negatives out... more

We booked to stay at this hotel for an overnight stay, the greeting when we arrived was great we felt really special, after being shown to our room and it was not ready, we was taken to the lounge and bought a drink whilst we waited. On going into our room we found we was in a suite, we had... more
