Stayed here for one night with my family to celebrate my folk's 50th wedding anniversary. Isobel and Fraser couldn't have been more helpful - taking in delivered flowers, arranging champagne, recommending taxis and restaurants, organising the lounge for our evening return - the list goes on. Nothing seemed to be a problem for them. The building is beautiful and tastefully... more

Wonderful owners, this is a 17-room 19th century guest house, lovely landscaping and grounds. Owners Isobel, and James (? not sure on the name), are exceptionally friendly, courteous, service-oriented and helpful. We had a problem with our credit card and the owners offered their cell phone (!) to assist. The front sitting rooms, lounges, and dining areas are refurbished; rooms... more

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at Abbotsford Lodge and have only good things to say. Firstly the area is stunningly beautiful and exceeded our expectations. Abbotsford Lodge was a great base and we were made to feel very welcome. We had a family room with a shared bathroom and although the room had not been refurbished... more

I organised and took a group of 11 Spanish adults for their first time to Scotland. We stayed at this beautful, comfortable small hotel for 5 nights over Easter. The owners, Isabel and Fraser, could not have been more attentive and friendly. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the food and service was excellent. We all had a great time... more

We had the delightful experience of the Abbotsford Lodge while on vacation in Scotland. The friendliness and warmth of the owners and staff was outstanding. They really made you feel welcome and appreciated. The lodge itself was a delightful escape from the same old, everyday hotel. The rooms were tastefully decorated and offered several amenities. Outside the grounds were very... more

We made a one night stay at the Abbotsford Lodge; we booked a superior room at a rate of £110 per night. We were greeted by the lady owner (Isobel, I think) who was very welcoming and friendly. She showed us to our room and told us how the shower and the TV etc worked and then left us in... more

Overall we really had no complaints about our stay here. It really is a charming building and the rooms as well as the dining area and lounges are well decorated. Overall the place has a great style to it and is not decorated like some B and B's that make you feel like you are staying at Grandmas house. The... more

Arriving later in the day, in a town booked solid with attendees for the Callandar Highland Games the next day, we were desperate for a room and didn't have very high expectations. We got the last room in a 17-room hotel. I have to say that every expectation that we would have had, if we had pre-booked, was met. I... more

We stayed here for 2 nights for a wedding weekend. We agree with the first review - very nice breakfast and the parts of the B & B that had been refurbed were lovely but the experience was totally overshadowed by an almost comical water supply issue. We had a big problem with the hot water supply in our room... more
