We stayed for one night at The Mount after our Lundy sail was cancelled. We called in the morning and were warmly welcomed a few hours later and taken straight to our room. We had room 6 and it was gorgeous! Huge, with a seating area, spotless bathroom and very nicely decorated. There were magazines to read and Heather brought... More

We arrived a little early, around 2pm so we let ourslves in thanks to a strategically placed key. No one available to welcome us until after 5;30pm.Even then not much of a welcome. Read about places to eat provided by gh only to find that the one we selected was not open anymore. We did find a good meal at... More

I was traveling with a friend on a second attempt to go to Lundy Island. Once again we were rained out, but at least we had a very nice place to stay! The Mound in Bideford was very welcoming and sincerely sad for us when we couldn't go to Lundy. We had rooms 2 and 5. Room 5 had a... More

A really lovely B&B, with very friendly owners, gorgeous rooms and a fantastic breakfast. We had a great room with a sitting area and sofa, much bigger than a hotel room. The bathroom was very nice too. Thoroughly recommended!

We stayed here for just one night on the way down to Cornwall. We were very pleasantly surprised by the large, double aspect room that was thoughtfully furnished with nice pieces. We had tea in the living room on arrival and then a good recommendation for dinner. It is also just a short walk into town. Breakfast was promt and... More

Having been booked in by some friends and having no previous knowledge of The Mount, we were greeted with tea in the lounge, and a very warm and friendly welcome from Heather The Mount is very easy to find, well signposted from the main roads, and with car parking available, is ideal for exploring Bideford and the surrounding area. We have stayed in many B&B's an can only say that our stay at The mount was OK....our room, although very large was smelly!! And the corridor leading to room 6 was also a bit smelly! The decor was OK and the service at breakfast was OK. Margarine on the table at breakfast and cheap orange juice was a bit... More

It is a shame that nothing was said at the time of the visit. No one has ever previously commented on cooking smells and I can assure all guests that we always provide Tropicana or equivalents (never "cheap concentrates" ). Flora ("margarine") is provided as the healthy option, but butter is always available on request. More

We stayed at the Mount during July 2011 for a three night break. The Mount is a lovely charming house owned by delightful people, whom made us feel totally welcome and relaxed. Our bedroom was very well equipped with high quality bedding and fixtures and a single bed for our five year old son, providing perfect family accomodation. Fantastic breakfast... More

Stayed there for two nights so that I could visit Lundy on the day between. A great welcome, a good clean room with tea making facilities. Breakfast starts at 8am but when I told my host I would have to be away at 7.15am it was brought forward to 6.45am and I got the full breakfast. Also a good selection... More

This is a lovely B&B. We had an excellent welcome and were taken straight to our delightful room.
