Stopped over for one night when walking in Deeside. Staff were friendly and very helpful. We made quite a few requests for an overnight stay, but all were met with aplomb. We needed help with things like adjusting the heating and accessing the wi-fi. The manager was a font of information about the hotel's history. Beautiful, recently rennovated, stained glass... More

Stayed one night arriving late evening having driven from the Borders through the snow at Glenshee. Hotel was very warm and we were expected, check in quick and efficient with friendly receptionist. Room was clean and adequate, en-suite had shower over bath and plenty of hot water. Bed comfortable. Room was very hot with no control valve on radiator, opening... More

I stayed here during the summer of 2011, as part of a family reunion / break. After getting over the initial shock on arrival of our visit coinciding with the highland games, we soon settled in. Now, this is an OLD hotel, Queen Victoria stayed here for goodness sake, and this is reflected in the property. The room we were... More

Room with a view was the view of the bins. Room was tired, shabby, in desperate need of overhaul and the bathroom was worse. Shower had plenty hot water, but was more like a trickling hose pipe. Small tv had no remote until a mini remote was delivered to room to put on our keyring! still only had 3 random... More

Hotel is very tired and in need of extensive renovation but Denise and her staff worked tirelessly to ensure we enjoyed our 3 day break. Food was very good, plenty of selection available. Entertainment was average, but we met lovely people at the hotel and it helped make our break. Management company perhaps need to take a look at this... More

Small cramped room, bathroom tap wouldn't switch off, no soap, all a bit grubby round the edges - meals very average. Management disinterested in guests - a soulless experience! More

The hotel was clean & the staff we met were all very friendly, but thats were it ends really. We clearly stayed in 1 of the 2 rooms that didn't have a fantastic view as stated in their report. We looked out a less than open window onto a fire escape. The room had 1 wee small ceiling light that... More

The Huntly Arms is a clean hotel run by helpful and friendly staff, and is ideal for a short stay. It can be found in the village of Aboyne, Aberdeenshire. If you choose a short stay and like myself live a long distance away, you can fly to Aberdeen and catch one of the regular buses that go to the... More

We stayed at the Huntly Arms while attending a wedding at Aboyne Loch, and we were very disappointed in our stay here. Our 'double' room was less than we would expect from a single, and we noted the following items: Wallpaper peeling from the walls, and flaking paint. The bed was no bigger than a 1.5 single, not a double.... More
