The Esplanade is a grade II Georgian seafront property. Built in 1835, The Esplanade is enviably situated on Weymouth seafront, directly opposite the beach. Ideally located for all local attractions and amenities, it is close to the town centre, the harbour and the beautiful golden sands of Weymouth Beach. Set against the unforgetable backdrop of Weymouth Bay and the internationally famous, World Heritage Coastline of 'The Jurassic Coast', The Esplanade is a haven for those wanting peace and relaxation beside the sea as well as those seeking a more activity based seaside experience.Boasting off-road parking, The Esplanade also eliminates the necessity of finding a parking space after a hard day of sightseeing, or lounging on the beach. With a guest lounge and bar on the first floor, the balcony is the perfect place to sip a cool drink and watch the boats sail past.

Would give zero if possible This hotel claims we were a no show to a booking made through red letter days back in May for 20th October. When in fact the whole hotel was shut up and we couldn’t gain access when we arrived. The hotel telephone number was and still is out of service to this day.

Response from Rob Cole, Owner at The Esplanade
Responded 20 Nov 2023
I have not scammed you at all, which was explained to you as I redirected you to The Jubilee, where your booking was. You showed me a picture of a four poster bed, (I don't have any four poster beds) and from where you were stood on pavement, you can see the four poster bed in question through the window, of the hotel two doors up. I have never done any business with Red Letter Days and never will. I have never scammed anyone and never would. I have made several calls to the companies in question and they confirmed what I am saying is true - that they deal with The Jubilee and not me. My phone works, as my email and my mobile. But you are correct in one thing, I was shut up when you visited as the house was a building site (which you could see); I have been closed as I have been undertaking a full refurbishment......and not a 1980s full poster in site. My top tip is to stop buying overpriced Red Letter Days or Buyagift or other commissioned madness and book directly, supporting local businesses.

We have just returned from a fabulous 3 night stay at The Esplanade (wish we could have stayed longer!). We stayed in Room 5 which was at the back and lovely and quiet. The beds were extremely comfortable with lovely linen. The breakfast was just amazing and was freshly cooked, so not sitting under hot plates. I don’t think Rob missed anything off the cooked breakfast! Honestly one of the best cooked breakfast I have eaten. All the staff at The Esplanade were friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and if you needed anything, a quick call to Rob and he sorted it. I would highly recommend this hotel for everything mentioned above as well as it’s great location - opposite the seafront and less than a 10 minute walk from the centre and railway station. There is parking at the rear of the hotel (which is a bonus) as we noticed many other hotels did not have parking. We actually travelled to Weymouth by train and only had a short walk to The Esplanade. 10 out of 10 for this hotel.

Throughly enjoyed our 4 day stay here! Upgraded to room 7 on the last night which was stunning! Beautiful sea view and a spacious room to Lounge around in our robes which was a nice touch and well worth the extra to upgrade. Breakfast was wonderful, superb choice and everything cooked to our own personal taste and served by such friendly, helpful staff. Great location by lovely restaurants and the owner Rob was kind enough to recommend some great places to dine out. Rob was always on hand with just a quick call if you needed anything and the place had a real friendly homely atmosphere! Would return without a shadow of a doubt , cannot fault it at all!

We stayed and the excellent Hotel Esplanade in Weymouth for 4 nights, owner Rob Cole. The room was very good, clean and exactly what you require for 2 adults. The hotel was clean and very tidy, the covid-19 precautions were brilliant, concise emails detailing the arrival & leaving process, we both felt very safe. The breakfast was very delicious and the menu varied and catered for every taste, Liv, the lady looking after us throughout our stay was so polite and caring, nothing was a problem and made us feel very welcoming and special. If your looking for a hotel is caring staff and a short hop to the beach then please try this hotel out.

Stayed at The Esplanade in Room 8 for a week in July. The room was lovely, facing the back, so quiet. Our only downside was no lift and my husband really struggled, however most hotels like this do not have lifts. The hotel was spotlessly clean in all areas and the breakfast was so good. Despite the difficulties with Covid there were no problems at all. Would happily stay here again and would not hesitate to recommend.

Just Back from a lovely stay at the Esplanade hotel where we stayed for a whole week. The room was beautifully decorated very modern, we stayed in the Victoria room number three and the French style shutters opening out onto the balcony complete with a beautiful sea view was a beautiful touch. Perfect start to the day for any couple. Such a romantic feel. Free parking was a big decider for us And was nice to know the car was safe because we didn’t even need to use it for the week with everything being so close by. We would not hesitate to recommend or to book again. The only one little snag for us was that being the middle of summer , we purchased a small 4L fridge to stock cold drinks to enjoy on the balcony in the evening maybe that could be a little thought for Rob and the team otherwise we have absolutely no complaints. Thanks. Steve & Louise

We have just returned from a fabulous 3 night stay at the beautiful Esplanade and would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of visiting Weymouth. Rob and his staff could not do enough to help us, ensuring we had rooms next to each other, providing free parking spaces and giving restaurant recommendations and booking advice. The rooms were stunning, the photos do not do them justice, they seem to have been newly redecorated with a lot of care and attention to make them look inviting, warm and stylish. We stayed in rooms 6 and 7 and the sea front views were just amazing. The beds were very spacious and comfortable, the facilities were plentiful with hairdryers, irons, kettles and spacious wardrobes. The smart TVs were a luxury and the shower was lovely too. We particularly appreciated the water cooler in the hallway which was very thoughtful in such hot weather. My personal highlight was the 5 star breakfast! It was beautifully presented, plentiful and delicious! We sampled the full english, kippers, haddock, omelette and they were all fabulous. We especially loved the continental buffet with Rob’s homemade granola! The location is absolutely ideal, right by the quieter part of the beach with lots of restaurants and shops nearby. We had a lovely walk along the beach in the evening and it was always easy to get back to the hotel as it has gorgeous flowers on the outside to welcome us home. Thank you so much to Rob and his staff for making our Weymouth holiday and absolute delight. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Amazing friendly stafff, delicious breakfast and free parking at the rear if the property! Could do with the air con but can’t fault anything else! Location of the hotel is right on the beach too! Payment was taken at the time of the check out rather than upon arrival so thats a nice touch too.
