Stayed for just one night to attend local function. Staff were most welcolming and accomodating in allowing us in early. Food was first class. Small problem with peeling wallpaper in room but do not let this put you off. One of the best B & B we've used. more

My family including 3 boys aged 16, 14, and 10 were due to stay at the Alendale as we were attending a family birthday in Weymouth on Sat. 28th Nov. The owners informed us as we travelled to Weymouth that they were also due to be out that evening. When we turned up our room's ensuite had a leak coming... more

Stayed 2 nights, nice room, very clean and well decorated, very good hospitality tray, everything of an high quality. Owners very welcoming and friendly, spotlessly clean. Good private parking at the rear, plus free on street right outside. Close to main town areas and across the road from the sea. Only minor negative being main road traffic noise but not too intrusive,... more

Stayed at this B&B for 3 nights on a 4 day walking holiday. Excellent B&B. Owners are very welcoming. The place was spotless. The food was of a high standard with many options - particularly enjoyed the porridge for breakfast. I would definitely stay there again. more

We stayed at the Alendale for one night only but wished we had booked longer. The rooms were clean and cosy (especially ours which was right at the top and has loads of character). Our teenage daughters shared a twin room below. Jim & Denise were so friendly it was a pleasure to stay in their house. Breakfast was excellent... more

This was my third visit to this guest house. I go to lots a B&Bs in my work. This one is a real cracker. Very well appointed, very clean. Generously provided with tea and biscuits, home made shortbread and a delicious caramel bar. I loved the breakfasts of fresh local produce. Thick yoghurt and fresh fruit salad. A lovely Scottish... more

We stayed for one night to celebrate a 50th birthday. our room was light and airy with a modern bathroom and everything else we needed for an enjoyable stay. The breakfast was very tasty with lots of choice and the hosts were more than happy to supply more tea/coffee and toast when we asked. As we were celebrating a family... more
