I booked this hotel for my parents as they were visiting me in Newcastle ul for 3 nights. Their stay was nice, they commented on the hotel itself being nice, clean and comfortable. However there was one aspect of their stay that ruined their stay. The woman (Margaret) who seemed to be in charge of running the place was subtly... More

I usually stay with friends or family when I return to North Staffordshire but earlier this summer my wife and I stayed at the Clayhanger. The room was on the upper floor and it is a bit of a trek up the stairs with suitcases. Well furnished and comfortable the room was quietly located on the rear of the terraced... More

Clean, warm, and friendly with home cooked breakfast. Close to Keele University by car for our visit with our daughter. By comparison with other places we have stayed recently it represented good value for money and we would return again.

I stayed here, with my daughters whilst my husband had open heart surgery at the nearby hospital which has a specialist cardiac unit. Our home is 50 miles away so staying in the area made life easier. The staff were friendly and welcoming and inquired every day as to my husband's progress. When his recovery was slower than expected and... More

I have stayed here a few times now and its really good. The room was very clean as usual. Nice bathroom, lovely owner who is very willing to help and assist. They make you feel very welcome and the breakfast is brilliant, hot food and a good selection. I would highly recommend this b & b

This is the second time that we have stayed at the Clayhanger and would definitely stay there again. The rooms are very clean and nicely decorated and it is very well situated, just a short walk from the town centre. Good value for money overall, but would have liked to have the usual extras, such as shampoo or shower gel.... More

I was recently in Newcastle Under Lyme for business purposes and stayed at Clayhanger B&B for one night. The room was on the small side but perfectly adequate for two, tastefully decorated and had a hairdryer afixed to the wall. The bathroom was clean and again small, but for an othernight stay perfect. Despite other reviews to the contrary, we... More

On being shown to our room (booked as a double) I was disappointed to see twinbeds pushed together, and mentioned this to the (male) owner, asking if this was really a double, which I'd booked. I was told that I could tell it was a double, since there were two beds, whereas the single rooms only had one. He appeared... More
