My only reservation about recommending this guest house is that it's already so popular that it can be difficult to get a room! It's fantastic - excellent food, lovely rooms... Sadly I don't think it would be suitable for anyone who has difficulty with stairs. more

Nothing much to say other than home from home. Clean, Comfortable, very good food. Would be our number one choice without doubt if we re-visited the area. more

The Graythwaite is the best bed and breakfast establishment that I have stayed in. The ambience, the decor, the high standard of cleanliness and most of all the wonderful breakfasts are not to be missed. Two friends and I have just spent a delightful three night stay and (together with the shopping bargains!) the Graythwaite just made our trip. Such... more

This was our first trip to England and we felt as though we had found a needle in a haystack. The rooms were very spacious and nicely appointed. The location to the town centre was absolutely perfect. But what really makes the Graythwaite so special are the proprietors ~ John and Hazel. They couldn't have been more congenial and accommodating.... more

This beautiful guesthouse looked wonderful and welcoming from the outside, and I wasn't disappointed upon entering the building.I stayed 1 night with my friend, who was getting married the next day. We shared a beautifully decorated room which had all the 'mod cons' - Flat screen TV, DVD player, Tea & coffee facilites, hairdryer and a spacious on suite shower... more

Our stay at Graythwaite was really superb enhanced by the presence of two great dogs that were only let in at our instance. Extremely friendly a great value for money. Spotless rooms. more

I frequently have to stay over in the area due to business. Hazel and John who run the guest house are the friendliest most loveliest people you will ever meet. They look after you so well. I have been staying here for years. The breakfast is out of this world. The rooms are so homely, comforting and warm. The location... more

Stayed there for 2 nights. The owners are lovely. They are very kind and gave us a lot of tips about the surroundings. The guest house is well located. Very close to restaurants and 10 mins walk from the center. The rooms are fantastic (LCD, DVD player...) and very clean. Better than some 4 stars hotels I have been before.... more

We stopped here as a convenient place on the way home from Arran to Portchester. It was easy to find just 10 minutes from the M6. In a quite location but very convenient to shops and restaurants. The room was lovely and comfortable. The owners were so friendly and helpful. John even gave me some fresh milk and more sugar... more
