unrivalled location, fab lake view but very expensive for old building, old furniture, creaking floors and extremely old bathrooms. we were charged 165 english pounds for one night in a suite . it was our honeymoon and we were so son dissappointed .we didnt even stay for breakfast. more

We are getting married at The Belsfield next year and stayed in the hotel last week to choose our menu and meet the staff. The general manager is superb and all the staff looked after our every need. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area, especially if you are looking for a place with character, charm,... more

Stayed 2 nights when the hotel was full. It caters for large coach parties. Parking at rear is fine. Is in good location with nice views of the lake. General exterior is in good condition. Rooms were clean and reception was attentive and reasonable. Carpets in corridors and stairs were worn out with tape holding it together and our room... more

The rooms in the Hotel are in desperate need of refurbishment for the money you pay. If you are a disabled person make sure you ask for a ground floor room otherwise you will have a problem getting to an upstarirs room. If fact the elevator is so old fastioned you can only get 3 people in it and forget... more

The bar area..restaurant and... more

Maybe we were just lucky. We had booked a very reasonably priced break through Hotel Connexions, but were a little concerned about some of the negative reviews on Trip Advisor. However, we wisely paid for an upgrade with a lake view and were rewarded with what must be the best view of almost any hotel in the world - with... more

My wife always wanted to stay in the Belsfield having seen it for the first time 30 years ago. So I treated her for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. We stayed two nights, but ate out in the evenings (Royal Oak and Rumours). Rooms looking a bit dated but otherwise OK. Breakfast OK and even better on the 2nd day when... more

Lovely staff and food ok. Hotel itself looks lovely from the outside. Go inside and very shabby. Rooms need updating. Bath mouldy. Food hall stinks like an elderly persons home that have not cleaned the urine!!!!! more
