Great hotel! Would love to stay again. Short taxi ride from Windermere station (about £4), right next to the Windermere lake and boats. There are rowing boats as well as self drive boats for hire nearby, as well as boats to Lakeside (and steam train), and Ambleside. This hotel is undergoing some refurbishment still I hope. My room was slightly bashed and in need of a lick of paint, but that was the only negative. The room was spacious, with fantastic views of the lake, the staff were helpful and cheerful, the food fantastic I enjoyed it so much I intend to return for a leisure trip more
