The owner / hosts of this spacious hotel provide prompt and alert service to guests, in a friendly manner. The steep assent is rewarded with lovely views. A peaceful sleep in a clean room followed by a well cooked breakfast. Our secure and comfortable stay would tempt a return here. more

After reading a less than complimentary review i would like to add ours. We had a great weekend arriving just after lunch on friday to be welcomed in by the owners and shown to our lovely room. We had a great stay , the room was lovely .. Four poster , great views of the lake, ample shower and a... more

Thank you so much for coming to stay with us. We were delighted to welcome you both here for a special weekend away, and are very pleased that you had a lovely time. During your stay, the trees were still in leaf and the views from your room would have been of a shimmering Lake Windermere with the verdant backdrop...

Nothing, and l do mean nothing is to much trouble for Janz and Robert Duncan, from adding an extra guest (Our Daughter) to sorting out a romantic sailing yacht and evening meal served on board. The lodge wraps itself around you like a favourite cardigan , welcoming you with its warmth and comfort, from the cosy lounge to the elegant... more

Hello and thanks for such a kind review. We are grateful when our guests let us know that they have enjoyed themselves staying with us, and it is nice to know that the efforts we make to help make their stay happy and memorable are appreciated. So, thanks so much for the encouragement! We had recently set up a few...

We had chosen the room with the four poster bed, not for it as much as for the view and the seats. The view to the right from the window was over the lake and was beautiful. The seats were adequate and bed the comfortable. Lighting was poor for reading in the evening. The shower room was very cramped and... more

It made us sad to read this review, and we cannot imagine why these people have written what they did! Certainly, while these guests were here, they gave every appearance of enjoying their stay at Blenheim Lodge. Further to some of the guests' comments in this review, we would like to respond to them. We are always anxious to take...

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful relaxing short break at the Blenheim Lodge. The guest house is tucked away on a quiet lane but only a few minutes walk from local restaurants and pubs in Bowness and a short walk from Lake Windermere. Bowness itself is a nice small town and a great place to stay if you are... more

We chose this accommodation because it looked warm and inviting but on arrival we were very disappointed with our room. From looking at their website it was completely different to the pictures but it may have only have been our room "attic room" but even so it was poor value for money compared to similar accommodation in the area. Overall... more

Blenheim Lodge is located in an elevated position in hilly Bowness and this is clearly displayed on our website by photos taken of the spectacular Lake Windermere views which, we state on our website, are photographed from our various rooms. These photos distinctly show the rooftops of village buildings close by. It is not possible to enjoy such wonderful panoramic...

A wonderful gem nestled away, hidden up a narrow lane with brilliant views and brilliant access to local amenities. Very welcoming, clean, spacious with nice new looking en-suites and excellent food and service. A friendly greeting awaits with lovely views. Nothing is too much trouble. The hill on foot is quite steep but well worth the short trek. Car parking... more

Thank you so much for a lovely review that tells it like it is! Blenheim Lodge is indeed hidden away, nestling like an undiscovered gem against acres of fields and woodlands; but just so conveniently close to the Lake and pier and town centre. We enjoyed having you both to stay with us, and are glad you enjoyed our place,...

We returned to Blenheim Lodge to celebrate our anniversary and had a marvellous time. As before Robert and Janz were great hosts and the accommodation was really comfortable. We had great views from our room, four poster and a reading area all of which made for a great stay. Looking forward to returning very soon. more

Spent a weekend at the lodge with my wife and had a great time despite the grey weather. Location at top of the hill provides great views of windermere although walk up at night is hard work (only 5 mins max but steep). Bowness itself is fantastic - lots of good restaurants and pubs (Hole Int Wall is particularly good... more

Thanks for a lovely write-up. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you both back to us. Being at the top of a hill, the views would certainly have been stunning from your room, with its huge triple floor to ceiling bay windows looking over to the north of Lake Windermere and the...
