This is a beautiful, cosy cottage situated 5 minutes walk from Bowness which has a good choice of pubs and restaurants. The couple that run the B&B are very friendly and wonderful cooks. They cook fresh bread every morning so you wake up to a wonderful smell. Breakfast is yummy and they also do lovely cakes which are very tempting.... more

Just about to give up on Bowness after looking at some grotty places. When we stumbled apon Stockghyll Cottages.Its small but warm and inviting just 3 rooms with en-suites.That is then matched by the new owners who couldn't do enough for the guests.Situated just outside the centre but less than 5 min easy walk in.The rooms are not the biggest... more

Stockghyll Cottage is about a 5 minute walk from Bowness and Lake Windermere. It is situated overlooking fields with a short walk to the Lakeside. The house is cosy with just 3 guest rooms which makes for a warm and friendly atmosphere. Breakfast was excellent and our room, although small, was welcoming, clean and comfortable.
