Just felt i should write a review to say 'wow'. We have just returned from a 2 night stay and nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. The meals we had in the bar were excellent. We moved to the 'Orchard' which was an amazing, spacious relaxing room.

Although my review is poor based on the room it would be unfair to not mention the excellent service I had from the staff at Abbey house. They were polite and attentive and room service was very prompt and was of a decent standard. They also have free wifi which had a decent strength.

We spent 2 nights at the Abbey House in December. The beautiful building looks impressive - but to get in it is necessary to walk through the groups of people outside smoking. There are large 'ash trays' at either side of the front door that were not emptied in the 3 days we stayed there.

I spent one night here as part of a family wedding party.
The waiting, bar and reception staff were all excellent. The wedding arrangements themselves were well done and the food at the wedding reception was excellently presented and cooked. The public rooms are superb and the grounds stunning.

We got this hotel for £60 per room B&B and it was exceptional value.
Lovely hotel designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and with a modern wing attached. There are some interesting books about his architecture in Reception.
The room was very comfortable and clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent full English breakfast.
