We had a family gathering here for 3 nights in October. The staff were lovely and made a real effort to accommodate us; dogs, kids and all. The rooms were good and the bathrooms excellent. very friendly staff, adequate rooms and very good clean bathrooms. Two swimming pools and very family friendly. Breakfast was excellent! This is my second stay and would reccomend the hotel. After some recent hotel experiences we were most pleasantly surprised by our stay at The Barnstaple. From arriving at Reception until our departure the level of service was of a standard we thought had long been forgotten in this country. Had an absolutely awesome time here. First time ever that I've really felt completely at home in a hotel. i stayed here on business, the hotel has a 70's decor reception. Parking is good. They have good leisure faclities. My room was clean but the fixtures are worn.
