My wife and I stayed here for four nights on a coach tour with Grand UK. We were very pleased with everything about the hotel.Our room was clean and comfortable with a superb view of the Cathedral,the food was good and the staff attentive and obliging. Great location, being just a 5 minute walk from the city centre. Stayed one night and got there just after 2pm so managed to get a room overlooking the river, and also with a partial view of the castle and cathedral through the full length windows. The Hotel is new & has all facilities you need - bar,restaurant,gym,sauna,swimming pool ,etc... The room service is very good as well. The only thing I didn’t like was the parking charge (as I can remember it was £6 per day). Durham town centre (Cathedral) is in walking distance with all the restaurants and bars 2 min from the hotel.... more

For a weekend in Durham this hotel has an excellent location, just cross a footbridge over the river and you're in the town. However, parking in the hotel car park is chargeable at £6.50 a night which is annoying on top of the room rate. Little things let it down, eg in the batroom only one soap,one shampoo & one... more

The hotel is still very new and you can tell. Everything still feels very fresh. The reception were very friendly and efficient and the bar staff also friendly and helpful.
